I also see Corvettes for sale with very low mileage.
It's like people buy it just to look at it.
How many on this forum use the car on a regular basis?
They go down in value even if the just sit in the garage.

Year 'round for me
I drive my C6 everyday even through the winter providing that it is not snowing.
I just sold my C5 with 105k miles, I hated to give it up but didn't want to run the risk.
Anyway, I enjoy driving the car, why would anyone NOT want to drive it.
It's like having a trophy wife that you can't bang- what's the point.

I recently bought an '06 coupe with 8,500 miles that sat covered in a garage and used only on weekends and club cruises. It's like the guy bought it for me 6 years ago and just stored it in his garage waiting for me to come and buy it when I was ready. Everybody who sees it thinks it's a brand new car.
In the month or so I've had it, I've put over a thousand miles on it so far...

Why do people buy a Corvette and want to know it's resale two weeks later with no plan on selling it? No idea. It's not like you are buying a 1950's Ferrari worth 2.5 mil. It's a mass produced car, it's value is only going to go down. Drive the damn thing...

Safety Car
Weekend car for me. I'm sure if i lived outside of NYC It would be my dd. Sucks bringing it to work in the city to just park it in a garage and run the risk of an idiot opening there door into me or something even worse. Also I find that as a weekend car I really enjoy and look fwd to driving it more. When it sits in the garage I always check up on her to see how shes doing also.
Also in my experience I just sold my 07 coupe with 22k miles on it and it was Super clean. Buyers love cars like that as you mentioned. Any car will go down in value but as a seller a clean low mile Vette is easier to sell and you will always get top $$ on it.

Safety Car
My 2012 just passed 3600 miles -- bought it 8 months ago. I drive it 4-5 times a week, short distances.
My wife's 2006 is at 11,200. She drives it maybe once a week.
A lot of us are retired and don't commute, so all the driving is both discretionary and modest.

Good question! As for me, I am retired so I don't have somewhere to go every day. But when I do comes the next dilemma. I have 3 Corvettes so I must choose which one to drive, my '75 Convertible with 40K miles, '99 FRC with 25K miles or the '08 Z06 with 12K miles ...choices, choices, choices!!!

My mom has a 2004 BMW, which has 42k on it (so a little over 5k a year). She uses it as her "regular car." In that instance I understand low mileage.
What I don't get are the people who buy something and then just let it sit in the garage on purpose.
If you don't drive a lot you don't drive a lot, but refusing to drive the car is another story.

Because it pleases them. Why do people post threads asking this kind of question?
We have a living room we only use on occasions, and I have suits that only wear on occasions.
BTW I also have cars that I only drive when I choose to.
Each of us will choose to maximize our personal satisfaction.

My '12 GS is my DD....at least it was before the hail storm here in Dallas last month. I bought it 12/11 and have put 5K on it since. For the last month I've been driving a Chevy Cruze while waiting for the hail damage to be repaired. When I get it back, I will go back to driving it daily. Hail or not.
