This was not some old guy missing a leg, this guy looked like a crack head. I did not give him any money because I did not see him until he slapped the squeegee on my window. He came running up between traffic like OJ Simson on Meth. This means he saw a corvette and passed all the other cars to get to me. Crackhead or not I do not want ditch water splashed on my windshield. Would I have gave him money, NO I would not have. If it was a fireman with a boot or something of that nature I would in a second.
I would give him a buck if he asked if I wanted my windshield cleaned and of course I would say no thanks. But to just start with the slop on the windshield is asking for trouble.
A few years back I broke my right foot and had a cast up to the knee. I had to drive 40 miles to work using my left foot. I took a large coffee can and printed out a label seeking funds to buy a boat to help take single mothers fishing. Whenever I saw these effin beggars I would call them over to my truck. Just when they thought they were going to get a handout I would raise the can and ask them for spare change. 4 months in the cast driving to work on this same road everyday netted me 35 cents. But the look of embarrassment on these scumbags faces was priceless. Got quite a few laughs from other motorists who were watching what I had done. I also made sure they knew I was in a cast and going to work at one of my 2 jobs...
I have been on my own sense I was 17, I paided all my own bills, I worked 3 jobs to pay for my education. I never once took a hand out, student loan or grant. This is not some 3ard world country this is the USA and anyone can make it if they are willing to put in the work. I pay almost 40% in taxes so my goverment can give away sheet to people who are lazy or make bad choices in life. I am old school, teach a man to fish so he can feed himself but give him a fish and he will come back for another free fish. If we keep on this path we will be France some day.
Well said. I don't hang with one of my old best friends because he turned into a lazy sack of you know what. He claims he is too crazy to work and the govt is taking care of him by paying all of his bills. He lives on 4th and Madison (Downtown Seattle), gets all his bills paid including elec, water/sewer/garbage, home phone and cell phone, cable Tv as well as free meds and $800/month for food (beer). He always didn't want to work and he has even told me that in the past but now he has it made as he is a professional beer drinker as well as other stuff. He has no hope and never will. It's sad but his choices are his. I think back to better times when we were young and can't help but think what he could have done. I've talked with him so many times as have others but he will never change. In life there are winners and losers and we can only control our situations.
As for people touching my car with the keyword being "MY" car. I sure as hell don't need some snob trying to be all high and mighty as to tell me to just look the other way as I have it so good. Life hasn't always been so good but the choices I made as well as hard work made it turn around and I made it work. Teach a man to fish is what our Govt should be doing instead of handing all the free stuff. Don't feed the bears!

I couldn't agree more, thank you for making sense.
