I waxed my C5 Corvette once or twice a month. Car was as clean a possible and always used clean towels. After a 18 mos or so I noticed small scratch lines in the paint. Most people would not notice and I had to look close to see them. Had my C6 for one year and have not waxed it. Clear coat and paint look as new.

Not too often, as you are essentially applying very fine sand paper to your car. I'd say no more than 1-2 times/year. That's what I have been doing.

Actually Zaino is the only product on the market that will add with each successive layer.

The reason being is Zaino can actually bond to Zaino, it was engineered that way.

Other polymer sealants and waxes cannot, they bond to paint, thats it. Most of them contain enough solvents and/or cleaners to take off what was on the paint as well.

One thing I will mention, is that a typical coat of Zaino is actually a lot thinner than a coat of wax, which is probably why wax typically gives more depth. However once you hit 3 coats Its about the same, and then Zaino will start having an advantage at some point.

BTW I learned all of this though detailingworld, where some guy with some sort of ridiculously expensive measuring device that can measure down to the micron posted his results of layering products. As I remember waxes were putting down 20-25 microns, the tested sealants were putting down ~15, and Zaino around 7. But after 2 coats with a 48 hour cure between, the Zaino was at 18 and the other products were about the same. At 3 coats Zaino was at 24, the others actually removed some from their 2nd coat. That was the end of the test unfortunately

BTW I dont use Zaino, but its a great product. I use P21s Concourse Carnuba on the Vette because IMO it looks more 'wet'. Lasts about a month though, in ideal conditions, lol.

I like P21s Paint Cleansing Lotion if it passes the swipe test as opposed to claying because it causes no marring. Now if the paint is deeply contaminated, Id clay first, the polish.

I figured I was not alone in my obsession with waxing. They just look so danged good after a good wash and wax, that I tend to wax more than I probably should. I even waxed wifey's Infiniti for the second time this month. Not to worry, my Corvette has also been washed/waxed twice this month. Something about a black Corvette just makes ya' wanna wax it. However, your white Corvette looks good too.

Black is the most challenging of all colors to keep looking clean. Plus black retains the heat White reflects the heat and hides blemishes, scratches. White is more foregiving and less maintenance.

Cmagic claims to be layer-able. I use multiple layers of it.

See their info: http://www.cmagicwax.com/products/wax.html

C-Magic’s World Class™ WAX introduction finally achieves what other waxes have promised but failed to achieve. Polymer based for exceptional longevity, our wax provides optical clarity with the warmth, gloss and shine depth unparalleled in other wax systems.

Our state of the art bonding agents perform for a minimum of 6 months while providing a shine that has only been available in carnaubas before our introduction. Independent lab analysis verified this protection in numerous tests.

World Class™ WAX will not stain trim, leaves no white residue and most importantly can be layered over indefinitely. While other waxes require you to mix or undergo numerous successive coating steps, World Class™ WAX simply allows recoating as often as you like. No messy preparation – no waiting – no 2-3 coats in a certain time period. Simply recoat as often as you prefer!

While most wax products are formulated for shine or some other characteristic, C-Magic™ understood from the beginning formulation that application and removal where as important as the final product appearance and protection. If it is difficult to apply, difficult to remove, then it is not the product people want.

Removed with World Class™ DETAIL WAX, you achieve a warm lustrous shine unlike anything you have experienced with other waxes.

Your car looks great! I wash the dirt and grime off regularly but I only re-apply Zaino polish when I think the car needs it. If the car shines and water beads I'm good to go.
