Did a search on this, read through the manual and can't find the answer....I'm taking a road trip soon, can the C6 Navigation be programmed with a specific route? I'm heading down to Bowling Green and want to use certain roads, can I program the unit to follow these roads? And if it can, is it real difficult to do? Thanks!
Our top expert on the factory navigation system is Paul Pearson (talon90) so hopefully he'll chime in on this one. Something I learned at his presentation on the nav system at the museum bash in April may help you accomplish what you're looking for: While I don't think you can specify actual roads or highways, you can insert way points along the way that are on the roads you want to travel. In other words, if you want your route to include Main Street, insert a way point whose address is on Main Street. If you use this technique, the system will keep trying to take you to the next way point that you've programmed until you either arrive there or cancel it.

Did I explain that correctly, Paul?
I downloaded his part I and part II for the Nav unit and his explanations really helped me use the Nav.

Mike,
You described it perfectly. Heck, you've helped me enough at my seminars that I bet you could give one.,
What Mike is describing is to use the waypoint function to accomplish getting to where you want to go via specific roads. You can choose up to five waypoints along a destination. You can enter them as addresses, intersections or even by scrolling and touching the map where you you want to mark your point.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and you can choose to download individual sections or the complete document in one PDF.
Hey Paul, this is GREAT, thanks big time for all the time and effort you put into this...I'll mess with the Navi and see if I can set the waypoints and I'm doing my first oil change (been taking it to the dealer), I see you got that covered too, thanks again!

The lazy-man's solution:
If the deviation from the computer-generated route is not too large, sometimes I just deviate from the "planned" route until the nav gives up and re-routes me from my current location.

Tacky, but sometimes works well.
Absolutely another option. It is however predicated on 1) knowing the roads and 2) having the patience of a saint to endure miles and miles of the nav speaking directions trying to get you back on her desired route. If you know when to listen and when to ignore, it works.
