I had to take my GS in for the "Service Active Handling System" message on the dash two weeks ago tomorrow. They thought they had fixed it and I was on my way to pick it up last Friday evening. About five minutes from the dealership the service manager called and said "It's doing it again!" There was also a squeak in the steering column when doing parking lot manuvers (slow speeds and turning the wheel at least one complete revolution) that they thought they had fixed on the previous service visit. I've read up on the Active Handling error and decided that in the attempt to fix the squeak the first time that they may have done something wrong. Anyhow...they had to order a new steering position sensor and are waiting for it to come in from Lansing, MI... And I have all of these days off because of July 4th falling in the middle of the week! And nice days and not so hot...
Sorry for your troubles. I hope you get the vette back soon. I got the same message last week on my 2008 and took it to the dealer. They had to replace the same sensor. Fortunately they had one in stock so they fixed it on the same day. Unfortunately, it is out of warranty. Good luck.
I'd go have a polite talk with the service department. I'm a pretty understanding guy but they should not have needed 2 weeks to fix a relatively simple issue. A 2 day job should not take 2 weeks...that's unacceptable. Calling to let you know there's still a problem after 2 weeks is adding insult to injury. I'd be 'nice' about it but I'd light a fire under them. Good luck and I hope they get it right.

That stinks man, hope they get it fixed soon and you are hopefully not without yours as long as I was without mine last year. Dealer had it the entire month of June to fix a rear end and clutch issue

Part of the problem is my scheduling - the nearest Chevy dealer to me is 25 miles away. The next one would be 50 miles... And with my schedule it's easiest for me to drop off or pick up on Friday evening or Saturday morning. So it's going to be at least a week for anything because of me. That also gives them plenty of time with no pressure to work through items I'm sure they've never dreamed of. The other part of the equation is that these service folks are actually trying very hard for me - I kind of doubt they have ever sold a C6 (small town). They thought they had the car fixed and were giving it one last check before they knew I was coming and then it gave the error message again. Several weeks ago the service manager gave me his personal cellphone number if I ever need it... And I have some good resources in backup if these people do need help with something they can't figure out.
I'm sure I'll be happily motoring soon! But that doesn't mean I don't miss my car...
