Hard reverse shift
Advise for my 05 Coupe, M6. I have a MGW shifter. This was installed 3 yrs ago. Last week after driving about 25 miles I could not shft into reverse. I finally used 2 hands and virtually forced it into Reverse. The next day after the car cooled down I started the car up and shifted to reverse multiple times. I suspect the shifter may have issues when the car is hot. It is a very stiff shifter to begin with but I do know it wasnt' me. Any other feedback would be appreciated. I intend to call MGW.

The ball end could be worn . I try to go to 5th gear and let the clutch out a bit to roll the gears .. A new MGW shifter is a HUGE improvement to reverse shifter , maybe some new MGW parts and lube will fix it .

Follow up from MGW
I called MGW about my problem. George explained the diagnostic procedure. This was a big help. Basically the transmission has a feature to prevent accidental shifting to R while the car is moving. I tried the shifter with and without power in the garage. If the fuse is blown the shifter is very difficult to ship into R. I cut to the chase and checked my fuse box and sure enough the Trans fuse was blown. I will advise when the car is driven and if I blow another fuse. Thanks to MGW

reverse shift progress
I replaced the #10 fuse for the trans. The fuse was blown. I expected the hard shift to reverse to be eliminated. No Go. The problem still exists. My next move is to replace the solenoid. Any feed back would be appreciated.
