I can't do it. If my dog has to go with us in the car he has to ride in a cage. I use my Vette a lot but I can't allow the dog to tear up the interior..... He doesn't care, he doesn't have to pay for it.
Another good theft system is the "Trunk Monkey." Just put the sticker on the window and if the thief is stupid enough to get in the car anyway...well the Trunk Monkey will be sure it is the last car he tries...
I've owned lots of German Shepherds over the years and a few were very protective when in a car. They'd go nuts when a stranger was near the car...they'd jump on the door panels, the dash, front seats, back seats....whatever. My dogs would literally tear up the car. You're a braver man than I.

This photo shoot was the first and only time he's been in the car. There were heavy blankets on the seat, as well. He is EXTREMELY well-behaved in the SUV; sits in one place and doesn't jump on anything.
