Default Storage Question

Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum, but not a first time owner (this is my second). I bought the grand sport in March and am leaving for a deployment here soon. Roughly 6 months... I don't want any flat spots in the tires and plan to put it on jacks. Not sure where exactly to put them, or what jacks to get. My baby will be covered in the Garage, with a battery tender and a full tank.

Any feedback or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Also, I'm a bad owner as I don't have any other pictures taken. Will do when I return. Thanks!

I've heard that it's not necessary to jack the car due to suspension issues. If there were any flat spots they would go away out after 30 or so miles of driving. I might add 2-3lbs of air to each tire as a little seeps out over time. You may also want to add gas preserver to the tank. Finally, return home safe and thank you for your service.

Add some air to the tires and put Sta-Bil in the tank and stay safe over there.

Full tank of gas, a few extra pounds of air in the tires, battery tender hooked, cover it and you are good for storage. No need to worry about flat spots on the tires, or jacking it up, etc.

Yep. Maybe throw in some StaBil for peace of mind, though probably not really necessary for 6 months storage.

I store my 06 each winter. I add Sta-bil to a full tank, change the oil, connect the Ctek 7002 maintainer, and increase the tire pressure by a few pounds. I do not lift the vehicle. The Michelin PS2s seem fine after four months of storage.

I store both of mine every year this way. No problems and no jack stands. You really don't want the shocks just hanging there.

May you have a safe deployment.

Thanks for your service!!

1) modern tires don't "flat spot", put about 40psi in.
2) Full tank of 93 octane will be good for 6 months.
3) Tender = good.
4) Thank you for serving.
5) Come home safe and sound!

Put a bottle of Sta-Bil in your gas tank and drive the car for awhile before you store it, so it is distributed throughout the system. Jacking/jack stands are really not needed. I used to store for 6mo. every year and just increased the tire air pressure to 40+ psi. No problem. Make sure it is clean/waxed and dry before you cover it. Crumple some aluminum foll into ***** and insert in the exhaust pipes, if you live where there might be mice.....
