cabin wind
The passenger seat belt will flutter above like 50....but simply buckling it over the empty seat solves that problem!
The coupe is great....can be a vert (kinda sorta) when you want it....but also a great hardtop, with some storage in the back.

Also the other day I called my mom up on the way home, top off, using the car bluetooth audio through my phone, and neither of us ever had a difficult time understanding each other, speeds were up to 55ish...

A simple manual vent in the rear would be most welcome to release the pressure for when the top is off. ARE YOU LISTENING GM????

Comparing my occasional rides in a C6 vert, the coupe does have more wind and (at higher speeds) buffeting than the vert.
OTOH, simple noise, especially from the tires (even though I have Michelins) is the most annoying factor, and I don't think that would be different on a vert. On long road trips with the top off, I too use earplugs. Don't laugh, they make a huge difference.
For me, the transparent top is so much nicer than an opaque top like the vert, I considered it an easy choice. And then there's the roll-over issue...

And yes, it is noisy. If I'm not idling down a quiet and shadowy parkway, the top stays on.

At 50 MPH or less, it's great if the windows are up only about 1/4 of the way.
It helps deflects a lot of the wind from entering the back of the storage area compared to all the way down.
Highway driving at 70 MPH or more, then I put the windows up 3/4 of the way and there is minimal wind and buffeting considering the speed.
I've tried the windows all the way up on the highway and IMO it's better when the windows are at 3/4 of the way up.
One exception is, if I'm going to be on the highway for a long period of time, I just put the top on.
Otherwise I don't find it that bad all things considered.
Just my 2 cents and what I experience

Even a full cage can get flattened in some accidents. But the coupe has the same strong w/s frame as the vert, plus the B-pillar/halo.
When one of the car mags was doing a recent test on various models of Corvettes, GM (who knows more about the car than we do) gave them verts to experience, but made them use coupes for the track testing.
