Mod consideration
thinking of going with the tinted glass top. Couple of questions
1) does anyone have pics of silver with glass top that they can post
2) what is the cost to paint the pillar black
3) how will the black pillar look if/when I put the silver top back on (pics if u have em)

The cost of painting the pillar (halo) will vary but I got mine done for $200.
A silver car will look great with the black halo and the tinted top.
It would look funny with the solid top if you left it silver and had the halo black.
Once you get the tinted top, you probably won't use the solid top much (if any). It is much lighter so much easier to take off and put back on. Also, you can get a headliner with suction cups for the hot summer months.

Good point about the headliner for summer months, I didnt consider that
I have both and use painted more then glass top - hot here in South Fla, even with suction cup style headliner. Top is lighter then painted one but you also hear more of the outside road noise. I do like during the cooler months especially at night - but that's just me.
If your car does not sit in the sun for several hours on a regular basis you will love the glass top and never switch back to painted.
If you park in sun, painted is best.

Doesn't take long to heat up the inside with the glass top. I have both and use the solid in the hotter months.
Stick a thermometer or climb in your car in 100°+ weather with both the painted and transparent (w/liner) top. Both will be hotter then he!! in not much time. In other words, there's not much difference if you park in the sun for an extended period.
photobucket is down so i can't post mine however painting the halo at a good body shop should cost around 200-300 dollars.... have a look at my avatar for reference.
I have both tops and actually prefer the painted top more because of it's noise insulation and better isolation from temperature changes especially when the sun comes out because with that tinted top it is like another window to get that extra hot greenhouse effect.-burn burn burn. If there is no sun it's fine but it does let in more wind noise and less isolation from temp changes. This year I left painted top on the whole year as I prefer the quiet to the road and wind noise. When it rains I prefer to put the transparent top on and when there is no sun.
