Congrats and have fun with your new baby. I am a relatively new owner of a 2012 and I must be missing something because I find the OEM seats are just fine for me and my use. I don't need to invest money in aftermarket seats. But, those that do sure love them.
Getting lower trim level and skipping the seats and steering wheel would get you a Z06 but each to their own After owning a 3LZ Z06, I would invest in a dashboard cover if you intend to leave your car out in a sun, that leather GM used on the dash and door panels did not gain my confidence. Congrats on the car nevertheless
Mine still looks brand new, you seem to have a bunch of problems with your cars?
Go big or go home - and it sounds like you're going big! I think you'll LOVE your new GS.
The vast majority of these cars never have problems, just keep the drivetrain stock, enjoy the car and sleep well at night knowing the warranty will cover just about anything you're likely to run across.
.........that leather GM used on the dash and door panels did not gain my confidence...........
..........the leather on the a-pillars in my vert would bubble up when left out in the sun during the day..........very poor quality, but then again, the car is gone now so I don't have to look at it seperating any longer...........
Congratulations on your new car and the improvements you're making. Personally, I'd look forward to driving and enjoying the car and not so much for a harmonic balancer problem.
As an aside I expect the expression "pulled the trigger" will soon be forbidden by the self-proclaimed 'politically correct.'

Again, that's just my humor. I was kidding about the discussions that go south on this forum after awhile, the seats being one of the much over discussed topics. The OEM seats look really good. I just love the Caravaggio seats. It was always going to be my first modification.
So, when I saw that Caravaggio was offering $1200 off for the carbon fiber seats I decided to order my car...AND the seats too. It's a want not a need...but then again so is the car. Need is a Civic want is a Corvette.

Thanks for the congrats and advice. Yes, I was kidding about all the stuff that gets sometimes over discussed on the boards. I'm not at all worried about the harmonic balancer. As far as I'm concerned the engine is bullet proof and if something breaks it's easy to fix.
In lieu of "Pulled the trigger", I guess I could have said, "I blithely leaped from my personal fiscal cliff"

Well, I guess that's just the way life is sometimes. Every once in awhile a bad one slips through. But for the most part it's all good. And if it bubbles I'll take it to a good upholsterer and have them make it right.

Yes, I was kidding about all the things I mentioned. It was a nod to the few over wrought topics that sometimes go south.
In regards to the warranty, Exactly, three years gives me plenty of time to iron out any issues but I don't expect any. I find worrying creates far more problems than it ever solves. And I do not have any engine mods on my list.

You know every once in awhile a bad item can slip through the quality control ranks. It sucks that it happened to Peter. It happens to the best of cars. My best friend has a lot of very fine cars and none of them is without their small issues. But they're all fixable.
The leather quality is not the best. Aston Martin is the best. But with a little care I'm certain the dash will hold up just fine, plus I really like the contrast stitching on it so for me it wasn't really a choice. I was always going to get a 4LT.
