Trading in 2008 z51 3LT for 2013 GS 3LT
I stopped by my local dealer yesterday and they offered me $30K for my trade in(Clean 2008 z51 6pd with 13.5K miles) and $52900 for 2013 GrandSport 3LT. I had a hard time declining this offer.
What do you guys think?

Well, the C7 is so close at hand I'd have to wait and see. After all, there is some difference in the 13GS versus your 08,but not a whole lot. Good numbers for your 08 though. What was sticker on the GS?

Did they have a gun in there hand. You are talking $82,900. You can do a lot better then that. I looked real fast online and found a 2013 3LT with an MSRP of $66,125 asking $61,069.

Tell us a little about your 08 vet, coupe, vert, options color. A friend from our Corvette club traded an 07 triple black z51 vert with 6sp and almost 13k on it and they gave him 35,000 in trade towards a 2012 gs coupe 3lt for 54k. 19,000 and his. They have his trade in listed for 38,000. Maybe 2 months ago now.

OK, that is better and that is a great deal, but your original post said $30K trade AND $52,900 for 2013 3LT Grand Sport. If you are thinking about it, I would not wait to long.

This is the 07 vert I was telling you about, that they gave 35000 in trade on the 2012 gs coupe. they were asking 38000 now down to 37000. I guess 35000 was a good trade from what you say they are offering for your car.

Finalist 2020 C7 of the Year -- Unmodified
Wait to see how much you like the C7 first the 08 and a 2013 GS are not that much different $22900 is still alot of money for a car that has the same LS3 powerplant and performance JMHO! Good luck whatever you decide but remember how fast that 2013 will depreciate when the C7 comes out and you already have a great model year in the 2008.

..... you NEVER purchase the first year of a fully redesigned or new model of anything, especially a high performance vehicle. The headaches of recalls, problems, design flaws, parts and manufacturing issues will leave you kicking yourself. The C7, like each of the C cars before it, will be a 6, 7, 8 year run before the C8 is introduced....... Keep your 08', or trade up to the 13' GS and drive it for the next 2 - 3 years, then buy the C7 in its second or third model year after all the bugs are worked out and its a perfect machine. Just look at the 2005/2006 C6s and the issues and style/options that were fixed and changed in 2008/2009. NEVER buy the first model year of anything.
