Default Inspection issue

I have a 2006 Z51 Procharged, Kooks headers, speed density tuned, w/o cats. I live in NJ...The car set up the same way 2 years ago past inspection. 2 weeks before inspection my battery died. I replaced battery drove about 300 miles, and it failed they said 3 system not ready problems. I bought a scanner, and it says o, oh, and ev showing not ready. I drove 200 more miles and my obd2 scanner still showing not ready. Two years ago I had the same battery issue, but drove it about 90 miles and the car passed inspection - seems I go through a battery every 2 years...Can anyone offer any advice? I have been driving the car for 2 months without inspection. Vette Drs. did the work, and said I need to drive it some more...I am getting concerned that after 500 miles same 3 sensors are not showing ready. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Two years doesn't sound right. Does the car ever have to sit longer than a week - 10 days? If so a battery tender will prolong your battery life, substantially. Horse is out of the barn already, though.

I recall reading incidents similar to yours ocurring with other members, they'll be along to advise. IIRC the issue rectifies itself with driving, albeit taking longer than thought.

It is not just driving that is required but certain types of driving. For example, I remember one of the first steps being along the lines of a 2 minute cold idle before the car is moved. A little searching with Google for something like "dmv emissions readiness" will find the recommended drive cycle to make sure everything is ready for an inspection.

I use a battery tender in the winter, but it only takes 4 days for battery to be dead as a nail. Thanks for your response.

Not an easy cycle to duplicate. I think this would be a problem for an older non-enthusiast to do. Find a road where you can accelerate to 55 and hold for 5 minutes, and safely decelerate to 20...who thinks this stuff up. Hate to say it but my honda accord had battery disconnected...I reconnected it drove to motor vehicle, and passed inspection. LOL

I went through something very similar having to replace a battery just before I had my car emissions tested. The loss of power wiped-out all the retained drive-cycle information. Although I never took my car back in to be tested (since it's a track car), according to my code reader all the modules reported good to go far before 200 miles of driving. You've put on enough miles/drive-cycles IMO to where you should be OK to be tested. Is there a private test facility you could go to first to see exactly what status your car reports? You might have a problem if you're still not able to be fully tested. Good luck.

O.K. finished drive cycle 1x only, but still showing not ready. The gas tank was a 3/4 full. I guess after 500+ miles, and 1 complete cycle there is more to this...
