Default Wiper not working????

On my 2007 Corvette the wipers stopped working, actually it has not worked for 2 years. It really doesn't matter as The car has never been driven in the rain, but I want it fixed! Why I waited this long I have no idea.

Anyway, I was told it is the wiper relay does that sound right? If it is the relay can you tell me which one it is?

Thanks,

Try to help it by moving the wiper arm yourself also. This might unfreeze the motor.

What is this "wiper" thing you speak of? I'm not sure my ombrophob has such a thing.

In the fuse box in the engine compartment, check fuse #4 (Wiper).

There are actually 3 mini relays involved.

#41- Windshield Wiper Hi/Lo

#42- Winshield Wiper Run/Accessory

#45- Windshield Wiper On/Off

You could swap in/out mini relay #40 (Rear Defog) as a test

This info is in your Owners Manual, if you have one.

I tried swapping test, and wipers still would not work. I gambled went to Autozone and Bought all 3 relays 41, 42 and 45. I popped in all 3 and Bingo, wipers work.

Tonight I was playing around with old relays and tried a couple of youtube videos to test them and they all pass. Confused here but glad they are wipers are working with new relays

I just don't get it, I uncovered in garage after a few months winter storage and wipers didn't work, swapped the relay as mentioned, still not work. Went bought the 3 Relays and Profit windshield wipers working. So bored at night youtube on checking relays and bench tested the 3 relays and all 3 passed the test. I may try popping them back in and trying again, but scared I'll jinx myself.

Anyone have a clue or guess? Bugging the crap out of me.

Man, I’m having the same issue with my 2009 XLR. I swapped the relays with other ones and still nothing. Check all the fuses and even the three diodes and they are all OK.

I then pulled the relays to Hotwire the power to the wiper motor to verify that the motor is OK and that went OK so I know the wiper motor is fine.

I then pulled the steering column apart and hot wired the plug that connects to the wiper arm and verified that the GND source wire is working as I could get my windshield squatters to work but not the Hi or Lo wipers.

so I know it’s not the wiper switch, not the fuses, not the relays, not the motor… where should I look next?

yup. i've been using it to help my diagnoses process.

cadbob, i never did this, but i can confirm that when i had my dad turn the wiper indicator to Wiper Lo and wiper HI, i did not hear or feel the wiper relay click. on. so i'm really thinking the relays are not getting the GND signal to trigger the relays on (pin 86) on relay. I confirmed that i have 12V switched from fuse No. 4 to Pin 85 on the relay.

Hopefully it isn't electrical for you.I was like why is this happening again to me, probably I should of manually moved wipers first time. Think my motor is weak or just lack of use. I did buy a used motor on Ebay, so if it does fail I have one. was cheap at 40.00 shipped. Keeps us updated on your issue please.

I am away from country for a month so I won’t be able to work on it until July, so in the mean time I was hoping to pick some people’s brains, it it appears my issue may be very unique, sadly.

• Windshield wiper motor park switch signal circuit

• Accessory voltage -- WIPER RUN/ACC relay switched voltage circuit

If the 10 A WPR/WASHER fuse located in the instrument panel (I/P) fuse block is open , a short to ground in any one of the following circuits may be the cause:

• Accessory voltage circuit to the wiper switch

• Windshield washer switch signal circuit

• Windshield wiper switch low signal circuit

• Windshield wiper switch high signal circuit

• Windshield washer relay control circuit

• Headlamp washer relay control circuit
