Were you getting noise with the Hawk One Piece Ceramic pads (I am assuming these are the hawk pads you had on the C5)? I ask because I put these Hawk pads on based upon feedback from other 427 owners, and nobody mentioned they had noise with these pads, and I just want to be prepared. I know a few folks, not 427 owners, said they had noise after awhile, but in some of those cases they didn't have the Hawk One Piece ceramic pads, and another guy noted that after a long winter of non-use he would get some noise until he 'bedded' (broke in) the pads again. I have over 3,000 miles on my Hawk pads and only got the slightest of noise a few weeks back when on a cruise we got stuck in 'in-town' traffic for about 45 minutes---all stop and go. Haven't heard a peep since. I have noticed one or two vendors consistently jump on these brake pad threads and push their product, but their blurbs do not say NO NOISE OR NO DUST, and I never see them offering up a guaranty with a full refund if someone dies get noise or dust. Would be curious to see what other 427 owners of the various pads have to say so we can all benefit from the others' unbiased experience.

I had some initial noise with both the Hawks and Carbotechs. I think it was bedding, because when I bedded them again on my 427, by braking hard a few times, no noise at all.

Failing to get real numbers on this forum I went over to the ZR1 forum to see what mileage they were getting. Looks like about 30,000 miles on the stock rears and somewhat less on the fronts. It appears that due to the stock alignment specs that the inside edges of the fronts wear out before the rears.

I went to a Corvette show in Pensacola, Fl last fall and there was another one there. In fact they parked us next to each other.

Went to a corvette show a week or two back-----no 427's other than mine (around 5 or 6 C7's); went to another pretty big all around car show yesterday...........two gorgeous 1967 427's; and my 427----no C7's.

Another guy in our club has a white 427, and I know of 2 others within 30 miles, but other than that I only know of 2-3 others from this Forum that are at least an hour's drive away in other states (RI and CT).

I know there used to be a local white one, but that one is long gone now. I saw another 427 leaving the service bay last time I went by the dealership, but that's pretty much it.

Unlike the numerous C7s, I'm yet to see another C6 427 at any of the local shows -- there's a black '69 427, though.

What's a "normal" 427?
