I am a mechanic, i love you take in projects on the side to mess with, i decidedit would be a good i dea to buy a wrecked corvette from copart. Mostly body issues, everything works, runs awesome, drives fine, no problems here.
But they arent going to salvage a corvette for body damage, It has some frame damage on the right side, to me it looks minimal, however i am new to corvettes, ive mostly been into F body stuff. so who can tell me how bad this looks and maybe a good frame guy in the NC area,
I have been to one guy who i liked but couldnt get to it till Febuary. He says he would pull on the frame to straighten what he coulld but i would still have to replace a section of frame, (which is fine, i have the place and tools to do it). Do you guys agree with this.
I also had someone to look at it and he said to buy a new frame and swap everything. I dont ant to but if it has to happen then its has to.
I am sure you are aware that the Corvette has a complete frame that runs from the front bumper to the rear bumper. Both of the outside frame rails are formed as a on piece rail. There are cross members that can be replaced, but as far as the main rails go, if they cannot be straighten, I am not sure what you can do.

Frame can be straightened and sections replaced. GM even has information concerning where to cut and weld as well as what type joints to use. Do a search in General and Tech. I have posted many pics and opinions as well as work I have had done.
Make sure you taalk with a frame person that has actually did frame work on a C6. I have hasd several C5's and c6's straightened by Burke Corvettes in Orlando. 7 hours drive for me but he's worth it.
