I just bought my first Corvette Christmas weekend and have fallen in love with it. It's a new to me 2007 MN6 Coupe with a magnaflow catback exhaust, and is a blast to drive. I can see now why all of you are so crazy about Corvette!

My question is, do you Corvetterans have any tips or advice for a first time owner, and are there any good relatively inexpensive mods you would reccomend.

Thanks!

Zack

Look into a local Corvette Club. I have friends in the Central Oklahoma Corvette Club and they are very active, but that's too far away from you.

The best mod you can make is to enroll yourself in a high performance driving school. It will also be the most fun. I recommend Spring Mountain - Ron Fellows Driving School but there are several others that are also great.

Welcome to the clan!

Congrats!

Before you become a mod junkie...

-- Make sure you have two fob's that work. Get fresh batteries or make sure you know how to use the glovebox slot.

-- Keep a spare metal key handy... under $10/ea at most places that make keys... tell 'em to use blank B106 (same as Saturn key). Also, test your metal keys in the hatch key slot.

-- Locate the pull-tabs in the hatch area (drivers side) that manually open the fuel & drivers doors... no reason to crawl thru the hatch.

-- See the youtube video for the Ranger Method to change your clutch fluid.

-- If you drive infrequently and/or mostly short distances, use a good battery maintainer (CTEK, Battery Tender, etc).

-- Online owners manual: http://www.gmpartshouse.com/download...07corvette.pdf

Congratulations and best wishes on your new ride.

What types of mods are you considering? And, will the mods be cosmetic or performance, or both? I have done many of both, but have spent a lot of $$$$$$.

I will say that I have been modding mine for almost 8 years, so the costs have been spread out.

You'll find some CF members who believe it should be left stock and some who think "tasteful" mods are ok, and some who do whatever they like and can afford. Nothing says you have to do it all at once. I think it's like having a new different car every time that I add something to it. Some of my older mods have been replaced, with the older mods being added to my wife's '07.

Popular mods include intakes, exhausts, engine dress up pieces, rear spoilers, and wheels.

One week, a new record...seriously though, drive it for a while and enjoy it before you start modding. Its ok to drive a stock vette, really. Then when you get bored buy something for it. It will be a whole new sensation. You can start simple with floor mats, or the sky is the limit. Hell, with some wheel tire combos out there you will need a second job. congrats man, its habit forming.

Congrats on the new ride...very nice. First thing I would do for a first time owner is read the owners manual front to back.
