I have a question about the memory seating. Occasionally when I press my button for seating preferences it is a little off from what I set it to be. For example, in driving setting I have the steering wheel telescoped all the way out, but sometimes Ill press the button and it will come out about 3/4 but I can manually extend it further. the same has happened occasionally with the seat feeling just slightly off. I have reset the button several times, 90% of the time it will work perfect when I press the button, but the other 10% this happens.
I don't know if this is related but i have noticed that my seat will self-adjust. If i raise up in my seat or lean forward or to the side the seat will move slightly. Never the steering wheel though.
I think I have been accidentally re-setting my memory positions for exit and driving occasionally....sometimes when I forget to pull up or maybe put down the hand brake before setting seat position I find myself pushing the position button a little long and with either exhaust or radio sound I do not hear the beeps.....my issue just may be operator error, so I plan on paying better attention to see if I am the cause.... 2012 GS M6
Be sure you only have one fob in the car. If two fobs are present, the memory will always default to the "lowest" number fob. i.e. fob #1.
I only have one working fob, and the 1 and 2 buttons are set to the same seating position. idk, maybe just a glitch thats not exactly an easy fix if its even fixable. It is a small thing so I don't really care, just thought I'd see if anyone else noticed the problem.
OP's problem is very common. Possible causes include:
Loose/damaged connectors under the seat (inspect, then zip tie together)
Bad seat track
Bad memory module
Using wrong fob
Dealer replaced seat track & memory module on our car, checked connectors, and the steering wheel now only goes to the proper position about 50% of the time. Before, the seat would go to wrong position, now seat is fine but steering wheel goes wrong.

Oh okay, my seat works pretty much everytime, it is mainly the steering wheel that I have problems with. If it is something a dealer would have to fix, then it isn't worth my time and money. A half second on the lever to finish it off 1/10 times isn't gonna kill me haha
I may check the connectors but if that isn't it I'll just leave it.

Thanks though!
In addition to the connectors:
There is a trick which was claimed to sometimes fix the problem in the C5:
Use the "manual" button to run the steering wheel full forward and then full back, 6 times each way. Then, reset your seat and steering wheel memory positions.
I never tried it, and can't see why it would work, but some people swear by it! Cheap, if you don't burn out the motor...
After you start it up and the bogus memory sets,,move the control on the side of the seat move it just a little then punch the button that you wan t
On the door. Your seat will go where you want it.
About 2 weeks/2k miles ago, our seat and steering memory positions started working perfectly. Same thing happened on our 2006 a few years ago. Go figure...
