anyone having problems with phantom grounds draining the battery when the car is stored. Car is on a battery tender but it can not keep up with what ever electrical demand is occuring.

actually i see your member since 2013, so what year and model is your car? you still have warrenty?
well, 1st i would have my car battery load tested. a battery that wont hold a charge is almost always just bad and needs to be replaced. (how old is your car battery?)
2nd, if you are positive battery is good, try removing negative cable from battery and check amps between it and the post.
3rd, if you do have amps then start pulling fuses to see if you can locate the drain. see your car years manual for what fuses/relays do
Many people here put their cars on battery tenders when that should not be necessary, but if you have a drain that is so big that even the tender can't keep up, the system needs repair...or just a band aid on the problem, a bigger tender.
2007 Convertable, same colar as yours velocity yellow. Have12,000 miles on it. LucKly I PUT EXTENDED WARRENTTEE ON IT FROM gm. REPLACED BATTERY WHEN IT FIRST STARTED HAPPENING. WENT TO START CAR AFTER IT WAS IN THE GARAGE AFTER 3-4 DAYS. dEAD BATTERY AGAIN. TOOK CAR TO CHEVYDEALER FOUND A\THE ONSTAR SYSTEM WAS PULLING THE SYSTEM AND ANOTHER CPU WAS ALSO AT FAULT. SEAMED
TO FIX PROBLEM, BUT NOT. I STORE IN THE WINTER WITH A BATTERY TENDER. WENT OUT THE OTHER DAY AND CHECKED AND FOUND THE BATTERY DEAD AND ONE OF THE PARKING LAMPS WITH A LOW GLOW. PULLED THE ASSOCIATED FUSE AND REINSTALLED. LIGHT WENT OUT. CHARGED BATTERY, BUT CAN NOT GET TO THE TENDER STATE SO SOMETHING IS STILL PLACING AN ELECTRICAL DRAW ON THE SYSTEM. LOVE THE CAR. WHEN THINGS ARE RIGHT. tHIS IS MY FOURTH VETT AND HAVE NEVER INCURRED THIS PROBLE, BUT ALSO NEVER HAD SO MANY COMPUTERS RUNNING THINGS EITHER.

Make sure the battery is really clean in the area between the terminals. I run two tenders over the winter and my non-vette one couldn't keep up last November. There was quite a bit of dust with moisture on the battery, so I cleaned it off with paper towels and viola! The tender caught up over the next 24 hours.

I have seen this happen before. The dirt combined with dry electrolyte mixed together will conduct electricity between the positive/negative posts and deplete the battery's charge.

You're right and the wives tale that a battery will go dead while sitting on concrete actually was exactly this, the dirt on top of the battery will drain the battery and then it will freeze. Leading to people blaming the battery going dead because it was sitting on the concrete floor!
Any problems with steering column telescoping or seat heaters or other seat functions?
Not A Short-People Joke: Memory seats can automatically move far forward (for a short person) and then fully back on exit... repeated motion might damage underseat wiring.
Lots & lots of other possibilities... might take patience & persistence to fix... or you might get lucky and find the problem right away.
I traded a 2008 Jaguar XK that was having this exact same problem for my 2012 Corvette. No problems so far (knock on fiberglass, or should I say "composite"?), but if my beloved baby blue 'Vette should ever happen to decide to torture me with electrical issues, I'm immediately trading it for an old "beater". If I am going to have to live with unreliable transportation, it might as well not take a healthy percentage of a years salary to acquire...
I have a 2013 GS that I bought on Dec 8th. I have gone out to start the car on 4 different occasions and the battery was dead, each time it was 2-3 days between driving the car. I purchased a CTEK 3300 and put it on the battery and the next morning it cranked right up. I drove the car yesterday, went out to crank it up this morning and the battery is dead. I will be taking it to the dealer tomorrow.
I have a 2013. I was on a men's mission trip a couple of weeks ago and the car was not touched for,9 days. I went out and it fired right up. It was charging at 14.6 on the DIC right after starting.
My 03 that I traded for this new one sat for 2 to 3 weeks at a time and it would fire right up. Either I am lucky or my cars are different than the other vettes.
My 4 car garage is heated, but I only run the temp about 55 degrees during the winter.

I took it in last Saturday and the goofballs checked the voltage and said that the battery was good and couldn't replace it. Tomorrow they will be doing more than a voltage test and replace it if that's what it is.

Funny thing happened while I was looking in my owners manual. It stated if the car was going to be off the road for a time , the battery should be disconnected to prevent it being drained. Well up here in the frozen tundra of western NY my vett is off the road until April. Decided to disconnect the Battery and leave it on the tender. Thanks for all the responses to my post.

If you are going to use a tender, you can just leave the battery hooked up.
