Just got back from working out. Went to grocery store on way home and see a blue older model (won't say what to protect innocent) Corvette about midway in parking lot, no cars within several spaces in either direction. I park my red C6 along the passenger side and get out to see a white older model (won't say what to protect innocent) Corvette pull into the lot and he pulls into space nose to nose with the blue one. As he is getting out of his Vette I smile broadly and say , "What could be more American than red, white and blue Corvettes." He says, ,"And I'm carrying a gun too." Although that is legal here, it is odd to start off saying that unless one feels threatened. I say, "I'm not. I used to have a Vette like yours" and he says, "Yeah, I changed the engine in mine." I said what do you have and he says he tells no one that. It occurred to me that he was leary of me because he didn't know I owned the C6 so I said, "Well, I've got an LS3 with 430 hp." He said, "I'll line up against you." I said, "You really won't tell me what motor you have?" He said no. I quickly walked ahead of him and ignored him as he said, "Have a nice day." He was a VERY poor ambassador for Corvettes.
Don't sweat it, he is obviously the poster child for the comments the rest of us have to listen to concerning a second childhood, mid-life crisis, or lack of an "adequate" manhood...
I am highly doubting he was threatened by you. That being said he may have been saying it just to confirm to you that he agrees red, white and blue scream american as does being able to have a gun. I dont know, people are strange.
i dont think the gun comment is so ridiculous especially with all the nonsense the govt is trying to pull lately. i do think him not telling you what kind of motor's in the car is pretty juvenile. who cares anyways? just a bitter old man probably
THAT was awkward! Yeah, there's probably a good chance he didn't have a different motor, and he wasn't carrying - but you never know so better safe than sorry. Perhaps little man syndrome gone wild...?
I guess it's hard for me to tell what his body language told you. Was he being a jerk or just said a few things with the wrong delivery? Red White Blue yes this does mean we have the right to have a weapon, maybe he was too forward with you. Then again he could be a jackwagon.

The man was totally anti-social in word and demeanor to a fellow Corvette enthusiast remarking on the coincidence of red, white and blue Vettes being at same place at same time. Then rejected further attempt to talk Corvette just as described. Probably had a raging hangover and was at the store to buy some more gin. As for weapons, I did not and do not care if he had more firepower immediately available to him than a SWAT team.
