Default battery tender??

I'm a new Corvette owner storing my car for the winter:
Would it be best to use a battery tender or to go out and start it up on occasion?

tender.

if you do decide to start it up once in awhile, it would be best to let it warm fully up , to dry out the exhaust and such. i know its tempting to start it, let it run for like 3 minutes. it would take too long to fully charge.

Short answer, use a tender when not using the Vette.

You ca start it up during the winter but if you do, it's got to warm up or you will get moisture where you don't want it.

If you start it, then you should drive it 20 or 30 miles at least.

Use a good battery maintainer (CTEK, Battery Tender, etc).

Easy to hook-up with a cig adapter:

Amazon Amazon

Either outlet works fine. And you can run the cord thru the notch in the door:

Just make sure you don't crimp the cord -- it should move easily when the door is closed.

Use a Battery Tender....."set it & forget it!" Also bump up the tire pressure to 34 or 35 lbs.....remember to reset in the Spring

Another testament for the Battery Tender, my '06 Harley bought new in Mar. '06 has had a BT attached since day one, always plugged in when not out riding. Still has the original battery, almost 7 years old and never a problem, still starts strong. I know I'm tempting fate and if I keep the bike I'll buy a new battery this year but BT (IMO) is the only way to go. My C6 has a BT attached as well.

Battery Tender and do not bother starting it up until you are ready to get back on the road again.

My three stay on the tender while in the garage - regardless of when I will be driving one again.

+ 1 for the battery tender - I start mine up every two weeks for about half an hour each time (get the oil temp to 100C/212F)

Using advice I received from this forum, I use the Ctek charger to charge and maintain the car. I also use the attached to hook up to the car.

When I pull in, I just plop the magnetic connection on to the front of the car and forget it. It can sit for days weeks or months and when I come out, the battery is full and topped off. I love this thing!

I use the battery Tender Plus. Once my car is in for the storage season, it never gets started until Spring. Pump up the tire pressure and tie it to the Battery tender. Nothing else has to be done.

I ordered the "battery protection package" ($100). When I'm not driving the Vette I hook up the tender.
