Default C6 2008 or 2007 Z??

I am in a dilemma... I have always wanted a Le mans blue Z. I can get a Le mans blue C6 Z with 19K miles for $44k out the door OR a Black 2008 Z with the same price and miles. The only reason I would get the Black Z is because its 1 year newer and has the newer T6060 trans. If you always wanted the Le mans blue color would you settle for black for the same price? Which one would you choose??? I like black also but its a PAIN to keep clean...

I have a LeMans Blue Z (LMB-Z). Its a 2006. If I were you, I think I would get the newer model if same price and everything is the same. I love my LMB but a year newer, I think I could settle for black.

edited: did not see you put they were both Z's. Go black. just my opinion. Tough to keep looking beautiful, but when they're clean, there's nothing that comes close.

It's just a matter of personal taste but no way would I buy any black car. It's not worth the hassle IMO. I'd go with the LMB 2007.

go with the one that has the better/cleaner service history...and has fewer imminent repair needs (such as tires, brakes, etc).

Have you test driven them both, what about any remaining warrenty and are they at the same dealership? If they are not at the same place, maybe you can try and get the 07 down a bit in price by telling the dealership or owner that there's an 08 for the same $$. Idk the difference in the trannys but if you do or look it up and find out that the t6060 is not a major improvement, then I'd go with the 07 because you've got your heart on the Le Mans blue. Don't settle! If you're patient I'm sure you'll be able to find an 08 blue z for the same price and miles.

They're basically the same car so if you don't care about color, go with the one that is in nicer condition and has a better history, though the radio surround is nicer on the 08+s (easily replaceable, which I've done on my 2006). The TR6060 is probably the last thing I'd worry about. No change in gearing or performance between it and the T56. Unless you plan on running 700+rwhp, the T56 will do just fine.

Oh, look up the Rocker Arm Bearing issue on the 07s to be sure that 07 is outside of the affected range first. If within the affected build range, I'd do the 08 or find another 06 or 07 LeMans Blue if your heart was set on that color.

Assuming all things are equal and LMB is the color you've always wanted then go with that. If you don't you'll always wish you would have. Since 07 was the last year for LMB there's a limited number of them out there unlike black.

My rule of thumb as always been go with the newest model you can afford, however in this case, maybe a tad different as Black is a real PITA to keep looking good (I have a 07 Z black) , this is my first black car. I don't regret it fully, I knew what I was getting into since I've been around cars all my life..,but if I had the option to choose between LMB and Black I would go with LMB everyday of the week and twice on Sunday

It's more of a rare color than black, easier to maintain and just plain downright looks awesome! Only way I would not get the LMB car is if it had questionable service history or appeared it was abused in some way etc..
