I live in the north Geogia mountains. The terrain is naturally hilly and so is my drive way. When I back out of the center garage and turn the wheels fairly tight ,it sounds like the tire is bumping against the frame.
As I turn the wheels and start up,it gets a little steep and the rear end seems to slip a little. Is this normal or should I take it in.
I know there was a TSB on several years of C-6 rear axle nuts being bad.Oh yeah my car is an 08,auto,with Z51.Could I have that problem or is this just the traction control doing its thing? Also any clue on the tire noise as I turn the wheels?
I would also like to find a Corvette club that is north of Atlanta and not to far from jasper.S far I haven't had much luck with this one.
Thanks,
Tom
Very wide front tires tend to skip a bit when turned hard over at low speeds. It is normal and very common all Vette owners will experience this eventually.

Sounds normal for front tires skipping in a slow hard turn. Rear slip doesn't seem right. Are you sure it isn't just the front getting straightened out? Or do you mean there is a jerking and clunking sound in the rear with a slow turn? That would be limited slip differential oil needs to be changed.
Axle nuts are very easy to check. Pull center cap off and try to turn the nut with your fingers. But loose nuts would not cause these issues. They don't really cause any issues until they fall completely off and you make a lot of hard high speed turns.
The slipping of the rear may be the traction control activating. My driveway is steep and when I turn the steering wheel to start going up the driveway sometimes my traction control activates. Next time it happens look at your display to see if the traction control is kicking on.
Tire scrub on the front tires is common on tight turns, but I've never noticed it on the rear tires.
The limited slip differential (positraction) can get jerky or noisy when doing tight turns at low speed. The solution is to drain and refill with the newer lube supplied in the 2009 and later cars, and do NOT use any additives or friction modifier. Go do a dozen slow figure-eights in the parking lot, and that usually ends the problem.
Not sure if that is your situation, but quite possible.
