Default Experiences using a Vararam intake

I recently buy a vararam cool air intanke, but i saw in the forum that a lot of people are loosing his engines,

what us think about a daily driver car with vararam? are it danger or I have a lot of possibility of blow my engine?

I need to buy another air intake?

I will be happy if some people can help me

thanks

All BS, don't drive through a foot of standing water and you'll be OK. Vararam is the best NA intake going.

I had one on my 05 coupe. performance wise it worked well, however the fit and finish were terrible. I can't speak about it ruining my engine because I never took the car through standing water.. I would not put this mod on my 2011 GS because of the quailty of the product.

I had one on both of my C6's and no issues. I honestly can't say if it really worked as I did not notice an amazing difference in power just from the intake.

I never drove in water so I'm not sure what issues others had in the rain.

As for the other comment, fit and finish were lower quality compare to how much the product costs. I never felt like it was secure enough and was a pain to remove the filter to clean it.

But, I never had an issue with it.

I problably wouldn't buy another unless there is a signficant change in the product.

Besides the foam tape seals it is a great intake. As with any cold air intake exposed to the elements DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH WATER. I have had mine
for years and outside of resealing the housing when I clean the filter it works great.

i have had it for 7 years now! no problems, i installed it and the fit and finish look as good as any other black plastic cai i have driven threw snow, rain, hit puddles never driving threw rivers and ran 10.20 and 132 mph NA and picked up 5 mph and 0.50 in the 1/4 it works and looks as good as the plastic engine covers

I just bought one. The quality is very good imo. I paid a lot less than people probably did when they first came out, and it was cheaper for my 05 than what it might cost for someone's 08. They apparently changed the design a while back and addressed most of the (if not all of the) quality issues. It was solidly built, easy to install, and I felt that the seal and foam were very tight fitting.
