Another nav ???
So my 2008 that I just bought has the nav system but does not get reception. Outside in clear area and driving the GPS icon has a red diagonal line through it at all times and the DVD is inserted into the dvd player. I took a chance and ordered a new antenna from GM for $40 and waiting for it to arrive but not sure if this will do the trick. The weird thing is I cannot set the clock. I can get to the clock menu just fine but it will not let me do anything there. It displays gps time only but has no time display. None of the buttons respond when I touch them although they beep.
Very frustrating to have no clock, I can live w/out gps although it would be nice if it worked

Probably the Nav unit failed. The one in my 08 went crazy with the display flashing from one screen to another so fast it almost became a blur. The screen tilted down to expose the DVD and CD slots and wouldn't close. Luckily, my GMPP paid for a rebuilt unit from GM. Service Writer said the replacement unit was priced at $1200.
