Pulled mine out did the wash and wax thing too. Opened the hood and ALMOST hand waxed the cf underside, but instead only used spray wax. The rest of the car got two coats of mothers, then I went for a nice long ride.
I applied the silicone grease to the rubber parts (weather striping) for this spring. The only part I missed was the center of the hatch area. My arms aren't long enough. I'll have to climb into the back to get it...when the weather is better around here.
And this has inspired me to wax the inner part of my hood around the acoustic panel later this spring...the sickness goes viral...
I understand your disease as I have it too. I have it soooooo bad I actually am addicted to ADAMS polishes. I go through 7 gallons.....Yes 7 gallons a year of the detail spray between our three vehicles. I do my truck every day weather permitting and yes, I am the guy reaching in the wheel wells cleaning them on all the cars too, my neighbors all say I'm nuts but they always want there stuff done as well. for some reason it is mental therapy. i been this way since i was 10 and got it from my uncle while going to all the car shows with his '67 Vette. Haven't been cured since

YEP...... I'm a fan of Adams polishes too. Used it for the last 5 or 6 years. Thanks for the reminder, as I was just about of "Butter Wax" and need to order some more.
I have been working on my car detail since last November when I have time. I don't really enjoy doing the detail, but I enjoy the viewing when it is all done. I...almost...don't drive it when it is all spruced up.
