Went to UPS store--shut the vette down, locked, went and took care of business--upon returning to the vette-couldn't get door to open--tried the unlock on the keyfob--still no luck--took out key and unlocked the trunk--alarm went off--pulled door open cord-door popped open-alarm went off again-closed trunk lid -got in car-tried to start-no luck--sit there about three minutes tried it again vette started---this happened last week and I put a new battery in my fob-now it has done it again. anyone have an answer--or should I stay away from UPS-John
You guys are missing my point--this only happens at the Ups store. I think there is some electric interference with the vette fob system. this only happens at this one spot. have any of you had any problem like this--the car was started and locked several other places--no problem--John
check your car battery - load test it. next time you drive by the ups store, look for a radio tower, police station ... yes RF frequencies can cause strange things to happen.
I have a similar thing happen when I'm at --of all places-- the Chevy dealer where the cars line up waiting for the service adviser to come out. The car unlocks and starts fine but my hatch refuses to open using the button on the fob or the one above the license plate. I have to use the button on the dash to open it. It's happened there 3 times. As soon as I drive out into the parking lot its back to normal.
Now next time you go there, do not lock the car...this will keep the alarm from going off when you use the key in the trunk. Then try putting the fob in the glovebox slot to start the car. Then report back...very interesting.
