Have Chevy dealership run the vin number to see the maintenance of the car, and this way you can see if they had any problems, plus see how the car was serviced in it's lifetime.

Good advice, I'm also a member of the 2005 club....no issues, go for it if the price is right and you like the car

There were some teething issues with the 05. However, the 05 is a great car. Make sure the software is updated to address DBS. The rear end is strong enough for most but if you are going to do mods and put a lot more power to the rear wheels, I would consider upgrading the rear end. No issues with my 05 with normal driving and updated software.

Bought my '05 A4 Z51 3 years ago (today, 5/2/2010, Happy Anniversary! ) with 10K miles on it, now have 23K and no problems at all. Oil changes and routine maintenance, had all the recalls done and new tires (Michelin A/S PS2 ZP), only other thing I did was change the Harmonic Balancer, it wasn't real bad, more of a preventative maintenance thing. Don't let the fact that it's an '05 sway you from the car, mine's been great....and I like the steering wheel!

Thanks for all the input, I will do some more research but
you have me leaning to an 07 or 08. By the way my 03 C5 has
only 28000 miles and i have had no issues with it.

run the vin # 1st -- check the recalls were done.
outside of weird battery issues - steering column lock - and the roof they are fine.
check your harmonic balancer for movement, check the age of the tires. one more thing, if you are going to race the car, the diff is not very strong.

other than that enjoy it and congrats on that find. wow

welcome to the 05 club
