Can some one explain this one question. I was at a dealer and he said must have a Corvette registered in your name. Went to another dealer he said must have a Corvette at your household and does not have to be in your name only the address. Issue is the first dealer is where I want to buy second dealer does not have the car. I have a friend who would gladly change his insurance to my address for me to get a discount if that would work. I really need the extra $3000 to make the deal work like I want it too. I just do not know if that would be enough. If not I guess I suck it up and drop an extra $3000 which is hard for me to do that is a good set of mods.
Also if there are any other tips to save on the Vette I am willing to listen. I have contacted most of the CF dealers and the main issue is I have a trade. Once you ship the trade and the Vette local deals are generally the same price point or better.
Well one of the dealers is wrong, I just don't know which one . So try to find the fine print on the loyalty cash.
What's more intriguing is your "friend" who would change his insurance to your address. Call me a cynic, but I can forsee all types of potential problems with that one .
Change it today and back tomorrow. I am sure that is not what is supposed to be done. And if there was any chance of it causing an employee issue there is no way I would do it. Not for $3000. I personally do not mind skirting the system but not if it involves someone else that could potentially lose a job. Hence why I am asking here to verify.
Fine print is hard to find. I looked on Chevrolet.com and I do not see the fine print. Just the big. lol
from what i understand, you must have a current registration in your name. but in my area (CA) two people can be on one registration at the same time. i believe you also need to not only have the car insured, but the physical address where the car is primarily kept must be listed as your address in order to get the loyalty incentive. i was working on a deal with either Mac Mulken or Boardwalk.
also from what i understand, if you for example have a buddy with an 82 Vette let's say (i do), you can get on the registration one day, buy the car the next, and get off the registration the third day. just need to be on there when you purchase the new Vette. no length of time required to have been already on there, and no length you have to stay on after you buy the new Vette.
turns out my buddy was on the registration with his son, who does not know me (he lives elsewhere and we've never met). and the son just was not comfortable with putting me officially on his registration even for $500 because at that point, i'm officially half owner of the car.
also the Vette used for the loyalty incentive can be any year Vette. could be a POS worth $800 as long as the registration and insurance are legal.
i tried doing this, but like i say, couldn't come up with somebody willing to put me on their registration as a partner. the reason i don't have my '07 is because as i've said a bunch of times over the past 18 months, Courtesy Chev in San Jose, Ca F'ed up my car in their lame attempt at repairing a trans issue when they broke something else in there too as well as caused other lingering problems. long story of agony, but basically, the car was never the same after those clowns got a hold of it. i got rid of it, and now i don't have that Vette to use for a current Loyalty Incentive so once again i endure a kick in the nads courtesy of Courtesy.
I'm pretty sure the reg has to have your name on it, not the address. Who's vette is your current one's name in? Can that person co sign the new one with you????
My Loyalty rebate for my new GS was based on my wife’s car
My Loyalty rebate for my new GS was based on my wife’s car. I gave her the car as a gift, we moved the registration did not reflect our new address. GM accepted the paperwork. Spouse’s car is just fine with GM for rebates.
What the hell would he know, he's a ford guy!!!! (just kidding john )

What's hard to understand about that statement? Look up the meaning of the term "Loyalty".
Then to ask on a public Forum how to lie, cheat and steal $3,000? I hope you don't ever buy a 'Vette.
Lots of new members on CF lately, lots of bizarre posts and it seems the lack of morality that is so perverse in our society is now working it's way into the Forum....entitlement maybe? Sorry for the politics, not meant to offend, just an observation.
My trade was an '06 Vette, so never a question. They, however, had a manifest with which they checked ownership of a Corvette, according to them, in a case when you weren't trading one in. I have no idea what the database would be for that manifest. It would have to be nationwide registrations I would think.

Last but not least is the issue of fraud. GM would frown deeply on this. As we are talking $3k here, this becomes a felony. Not worth the jail time in my hmo.

There must be a list somewhere because when I went to the GEICO insurance website to get a quote all I had to do was enter my name and State as I recall and within a few seconds they had all the information on the 2007 corvette that I owned without telling them any thing about any vehicles.
