I have had one for 4 years. I like it but if I had to do it again, I'd pass. Still takes 10-15 to get it completely dry and only takes me a little longer with my micro fiber drying towels. Probably less of a chance of scratching with the Master Blaster. Just my opinion.

I have more, time than money, therefore my Stihl gas leaf blower and towels to touch up work absolutely great. I can not justify $330 for something to blow water off a car, when I have something that does that and another job as well.

My Stihl, blows grass off sidewalks, blows leafs, blows dry powdery snow, blows dust/dirt/etc out of my garage, and dries my car. That is a real deal, and it was a lot less than $330.

I use my MB to dry the Vette, Harley and the F-450 power stroke. When I'm not using it for my toys then I blow the garage out. Nice tool, I only wish they had better casters on it. Maybe ones that swivel on the front end.

Has anyone modified the unit by changing the front casters to swivel's?

I settled for a dual role Air Force "Vac & Blow" from autogeek $230. It has 4 HP which is good for the job, I vacuum the interior and blow the engine bay out...have not air dried the car yet.

IMO
It's just a lazy way to dry but not the best way. Part of a good wash job is using an absorber
(yes 10 bucks anywhere lasts for years) Then spend some money on a really nice micro fiber. After the wash you will find a thing or two you didn't see but will when you blow it off! The absorber gets the final cleaning of something like bug guts. Then take the corner of it to do the tail light lens gap at the bottom and under the mirror's.
Done right nothing comes out when you drive off!

8 HP * 746 watts / 120 volts = 49.73 Amps to run these motors. They claim 19 Amps.

Never thought about it before but the math above is correct, they have to be lying about the horsepower rating, even if only one motor was running at a time you would still be over the amperage rating.
I just checked mine and it says 4.0 + 4.0 Peak HP. Like any electric motor, it does not run at peak HP., that is the HP it can produce if it was stalled. (forced to quit running).

I can run mine on a 15 Amp service, start one motor, wait 20 seconds,
then start the other. If I start both at the same time, good chance it will trip the breaker. However I installed another 20 Amp circuit just in case I forget and start both motors at the same time.

Hope this helps.

I'm sure the Master Blaster is a good tool, but already have enough stuff laying around. Have a small carry around Hoover Porta Power vacuum I've been using around the house for years. Not powerful as a Master Blaster, but pretty good. Great for vacuuming cars, and reverse the hose for a strong blower. Don't completely dry the car with it, but dry out the mirrors and around trim. Inflates air mattresses and such, and been paid for years ago. Works for me.
