Just how many service people does it take to pull a screw from a run flat? With only 700 miles on the clock! So there like Oh your lucky its right in the center of the tire I don't even think it went through! Yank.... Yank....THEN.. Pssssssssss! Oh I guess not!
Thank God I decided not to yank it out on the driveway last night!
As far as flat tires go it could have been way worse. It's good you didn't remove the screw last night although, assuming you have runflats, you still would have made it home. Best of all...it sounds like the puncture is repairable.
Years ago, I punctured a brand new runflat with 3 nails (like from a Paslode nail gun). It was not repairable and there was no road hazard warranty. The new tires came pre-mounted on new wheels. It was convenient to get the new wheels with tires already mounted but since the tires came through a 3rd party there was no warranty. Suffice it to say I won't buy new wheels with new tires pre-mounted as a package deal ever again....live and learn.
I ran over a 5/16 allen wrench.
It went through the tire and bounced around inside.
You would not believe how much damage that thing did to the inner wheel.

Never pull a nail or screw out of your tire. Go right to the tire shop otherwise your asking for an instant flat. That nail is holding the air in until you get it repaired!

I will water check it for air seeps. If not seeping, I might pull it a little bit and check it again with water. Sometimes I find random steel embedded in the tire that is only shallowly embedded.
Well, dang!
I just posted about the piece of metal embedded in my tire.
It's at the dealer right now.
People question the need for runflats.
My answer is right here.
Mine showed 8psi when I got in it after work yesterday.
The runflats got me safely to a gas station for air.

WOW !!! have never heard of anything even close to that happening !
If only 700 miles on the car, you probably have warranty left on the tires. Take it to a Goodyear store and they'll do a proper repair or replace it free of charge. Happened to me with around 1,200 miles on mine.
We had a set of needlenose pliers that went through and was rolling around inside a tire when I was a kid. I still have the set in my toolbox today. Most expensive set of pliers ever.

The car warranty covers nails in the tires? I paid a Good Year store $50 to fix it. Also they never said it could not be repaired.

Same thing happened to me at 500 miles. I drove right to the dealer . There was a nail in between the tread and couldn't be fixed. I had to wait couple of days for them to get it in. Needless to say I wasn't a happy camper since i couldn't drive my car for a few days and it was brand new. At first they wanted me to pay for a new tire until I flipped out on them ! Runflats are the only tires I would have . I live in the country and drive a lot so I like the security of the runflats. I never had anything but so I wouldn't know the difference from non-runflats .

Had this happen to my Escalade. It didnt go all the way through the tire like yours but the tire shop was flabbergasted...

Yeah I was very surprised too. They are fully warranted for the first 2/32nds of wear and prorated after that. Free to fix or replace at their discretion.
