I actually love Michigan, and my son who lives in Florida, misses the seasons. Can't beat the spring and fall. and summers not bad. If you like winter sports, you can't beat it. Good gun laws, world class fishing, the longest fresh water shoreline in the world, do I sound like a Pure Michigan commercial?
Oh and I forgot to mention, the largest, longest, and best car show and criuse, The Woodward Dream Criuse. It's not just the one offical day. It strarts at least a week ahead of time.

I'm up north finishing up residency in MI and going back to FL (where I lived for 15 years). I'm happy you have MI pride but I can't stand the weather up here. It's good for maybe 4 months and the rest is terrible. Perfect example is right now...it was in the 30s this morning in MAY. We had some nice weather last week and was hoping to use the pool this week....NOPE not anymore.
I prefer to have the "spring" season from up north during the entire winter while in Florida and the summer's up north (I lived in MI and multiple other states) is hotter than in Florida. Triple digits never occur in Florida.
Anyways, to answer the OP post yes I'm in MI but I'm peace out in less than 2 months to the land of permanent vacations. Perfect area for a Corvette (and why I waited until now to get one). I always tell people up north if I want to enjoy the winter and the winter sports that's what I call a vacation. I don't want to deal with on a daily basis scraping off the car, being forced to commute in a blizzard for work, etc. etc. At least if the weather is that bad and I'm on a vacation I don't have to put my life at jeopardy fighting the elements to get to a job. EDIT: Oh and I don't have to worry about having a nice car like a Vette in a garage 6 months+ out of the year.
I've lived in Arizona for decades but I'll always be a Michigander. I was born in Detroit and raised in Birmingham. My Dad went to school in Arizona and he loved it there. For years our family lived part of the year in Arizona and part of the year in Michigan. When I was in the 10th grade my Dad sold the house in Michigan and we became full-time Arizona residents. I couldn't imagine a better place to grow-up in....I had a wonderful childhood in Michigan!
I really should make the effort to go back to visit old friends and family and see some of the wonderful places there....it's been years.
