Coolant temps
Just returned from a lunch run and the temp on deck today in the Austin area is 101 deg. Could not get the coolant temps below 225...man, it is HOT. Although this is my 3rd vette, I'm old school and still can't get used to these higher coolant temps. I ran a 160 deg thermostat in my '07 (prior to my current Callaway) which gave me coolant temps in the 180 deg range on a hot day. Would be interested to know if anyone with a s'charger is running w/ 160 deg stats....

That does sound hot. Was that while sitting at a stop light, or while driving down the street or freeway? My 08 will climb to 210 or 212 momentarily while stopped in hot weather, but once I get going, it goes down to 203 or 205. Maybe its a faulty temp guage. You need to check it out.

I have an '06 Z and I put in a 160 stat no S/C though and its really hot here as well. My temp on the highway is usually high 170's and driving around town with lights and traffic it never exceeded 196. Hope this helps.

My 07 Callaway will be in the 204-205 range normally. Hot weather in L.A. area for us is about 80-85 degrees. It might reach +/- 215 when sitting in traffic at that time. In very hot conditions (90+) and sitting in traffic it reached almost 220. But, goes back down to my low to mid 200's when I started moving again. I have the factory thermostat.
