Here is a Corvette Tech Tip for the 2005 - 2007 Corvette rear end oil change.

Important: DO NOT add any limited-slip additive (friction modifier). With this new fluid (Dexron LS Gear Oil 75W-90) it is no longer required to add friction modifier. If friction modifier is added, it will cause the fluid to lose some of it's friction reducing properties as well as reducing seal life.

Fill the differential with the new DEXRON® LS gear oil, P/N 88862624 (Canadian P/N 88862625). R

The reason for this is the Dexron LS has tons of additive already in it. To get after market fluids, which also have additive already in them, up to this level of additive, more than comes in them is needed.

The spring diff clutch plate clamping pressure on the C6 diff is higher than on the C5 and the plates are made out of different materials. I think the chattering problem that resulted caught GM by surprise as clearly the C6 came out well before Dexron LS. There were numerous TSBs while they developed the Dexron LS.
