The Corvette Fun Facts Thread

I'll go first. I learned this on this forum, but then confirmed during my buyer's tour:
When a Corvette wheel center cap is properly installed, the "point" at the bottom of the C6 crossflags logo should point to the valve stem.
The Right Way:

And while I didn't notice it, at one point it was wrong on my car (I don't recall fixing it, so perhaps they fixed it at a tire change or during my early on alignment):
Anyway, a little Corvette trivia..... The new Corvette was ready for distinction very early on with dismal sales in 1954 (over a 1100 '54's on dealers lots when the '55 MY started.) It was Ford who saved the Chevrolet Corvette with it's introduction of the Ford Thunderbird for 1955. Chevy vs. Ford was very heavy in those days! No way was Ford going to get the edge on Chevrolet. If not for the Thunderbird...most likely the Corvette would have died at a very young age. Also....Zora Arkus Duntov helped tremendously to making a Corvette a true performance sports car!
BTW...The 2 seat Ford Thunderbirds outsold the Corvette by a huge margin.

A corvette (sometimes corvet) is a small, maneuverable, lightly armed warship, originally smaller than a frigate (2,000+ tons) and larger than a coastal patrol craft or fast attack craft (500 or fewer tons), although many recent designs resemble frigates in size and role. During the Age of Sail, corvettes were smaller than frigates and larger than sloops-of-war, usually with a single gun deck.
Although almost all modern navies use ships smaller than frigates for coastal duty, not all of them use the term corvette (via Middle French, from a Dutch word corf, a type of boat) or equivalent. The rank "corvette captain", equivalent in many navies to "lieutenant commander", derives from the name of this type of ship. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corvette)
Also from Wikipedia:
Myron Scott is credited for naming the car after the type of small, maneuverable warship called a corvette. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Corvette)

Hee, hee: "Corvette Captain"....I can picture it now. White Vert with a little blue "captain's" hat! Winning!

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
You can identify a 2010 GS from later year GS models by looking at the oil pressure gauge. The gauge max is 80psi and was changed in later years to 100psi. This may only be releveant to MN6 models.
While never offered to the public, a total of 43 - 1983 model Corvettes were built. There were so many quality problems with them it was decided to halt production until they could be corrected. By the time the problems were corrected, it was so late into the model year that the car was brought out as a 1984 model and was run for a year and a half. The only verifiable 1983 Corvette still known to exist is on display in the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky

The C6 is the only generation the colour green was not offered.
