I was in the auto dept of WalMart just looking around, and noticed a Fram Ultra Synthetic oil filter. I have seen their Ultra filters before, but not the Ultra Synthetic. Is this their newest filter?
I generally think all Fram filters suck, but from what I've read, the Fram Ulra is the best Fram filter and only Fram filter worth using.
That being said, their lower end filters still suck.
And because you found it on the internet it must be true ......... If Fram filters were that bad I don't think Wal-Mart would risk the issue considering how many oil changes their stores do each month. O/p, thanks for the heads up. I'll have to check it out.
Millions upon millions of cars and trucks have accumulated billions and billions of miles with Fram filters. So, while you may not like them evidence to the contrary - that they are junk - is overwhelming.

Walmart carries A/C so you can get a pf-48 but I examined it and the
Supertech line which is a cheap filter but still passes OEM spec.
is the same filter as the walmart A/C. So I buy a wix or even a hastings
is good. I get my oil a walmart but not the filter!
I use the Castrol Edge!
I have been using Fram filters and Quaker State dino oil in my daily drivers forever I do 40 k a year and trade every 3 years at appx 120k.Never had any sort of engine problem.Been doing this for 20 years

At no time did the o/p ask for any ones opinion of the Wal-Mart brand filter. O/p simply inquired as to if the one that was looked at in the store is the newest.
First of all, I don't sell Fram filters, and I don't work for Fram. In fact, I have no particular like or dislike towards Fram filters, I simply asked a question. But reading all of the posts, particularly those that don't like Frams, I am curious about one thing. In arriving at your poor opinion of Fram filters, how many of you personally have actually had engine problems as a direct result of using a Fram filter?
