My amazing wife bought me a 2013 Grand Sport 4LT. Today was our first ride other than the 40 mile drive home. Although I was taking it easy to get used to it and break things in, I was totally impressed. I was especially impressed with the brakes (incredible), and the smoothness of the peddle shifters. I didn't get on it at all, but I could feel the power. Handling was great, even with the new tires. I did not notice a huge difference between the touring and sport modes. Probably because I wasn't pushing the car enough. When we got home I wanted to get the bugs and grime off, which brought up a stupid question. The car has the paint protectant / sealant on it. The owners manual actually says not to wax the car or put anything else on the paint, just wash it gently. I see alot of threads on Corvette forum talking about what kind of wax and other products to use in keeping our Vettes looking good. What is the general thought on this topic? Thanks.
And it only gets better when you put the hammer down, enjoy the ride. Take it up to 70 and push the pedal to the floor, then you will see amazing! You need to watch the video on the magnetic ride control then you will understand why you may not feel the difference, but it really does work.
In regards to waxing....doesn't it also say in the same area( or at least the 12 manual) Occasional hand waxing or mild polishing should be done to
remove residue from the paint finish. See your dealer for approved
cleaning products. seems they got it covered both ways.
Congratulations on a great car and perhaps more importantly a wonderful wife! My wife didnt buy my 13 GS for me, but also didnt put up a fuss for me buying it so guess I am blessed also. I've had my new GS for a couple weeks and almost have 600 miles on it. Just about time for WOT after a few more miles.

Waxes containing cleaners (ex.: Collinite, or most liquid waxes) will alter the sealant underneat. To top a sealant, you should therefore use something as gentle as possible, and without additives. I personally like Souveran and P21S 100% when used on top of other products.
Thanks to all. I truly do have an awesome wife. The car is just something for us to enjoy together. Did I blow it? I put a coat of mequiars tech wax 2.0 on it when I first brought it home. I wanted to put a coat on so the bugs a debris would not stick to it. Will this one coat cause any problems? Buy the way I have posted pictures in my garage, but I can't figure out how to post hem on a thread like this. I am a computer idiot. Any help would be appreciated. Mike.

WAX the thing. That paint has been on for awhile now. I am one you only breaks in a NEWLY built engine not a factory one but to each his own. Enjoy the car and don't forget to wave.
