Default DIC msg. No Options Available

I moved the wife's 2010 around in garage to hook up battery tender. I noticed it did not auto lock and horn honk. I'm using my FOB as always. I recently replaced my FOB but went through all the options after I programmed it. They were set the same as on the old FOB. I searched the forum and looked in the owners manual, and couldn't find this anywhere. Anyone have any clues.

I did find the message in the manual, but it didn't tell me how to continue.

You replaced your FOB. How did you program it? Did you use the long procedure to erase all existing FOB programming and start over or the short procedure to just "add" it as FOB 3? Or did the dealer do it?

The message is basically telling you the FOB is not programed as #1 or #2 which are the only two that can access the memory settings.

I programmed it myself in the glove box. Showed FOB 3. How can I deprogram the old one?

You have to do the LONG procedure, erasing all existing FOB programming and start new. The first FOB you program will be #1 regardless what number is stamped on the FOB case, the second programmed will be #2.

Read the instructions first to make sure you understand them. When it says move the FOBs far away from the car, it means FAR away, as far as reasonably possible.

If you have trouble, this thread is huge with lots of posts of how people have remedied many problems so just read through it. GL

Thanks for your help. By doing the long procedure without a recognized FOB does it clear memory from both initial FOB's?

Another idea. Can I take the transmitter board out of the old and put it in the new?
