Vibration

Hey Boss. Give me a call. Sounds like you're having issue with a bent torque tube, but I need some more
information for you. I re-read your thread, but didn't get enough from it.
Call me when you have time tomorrow and we'll see if we can get to the bottom of this.

I just spent an hour on the phone with Chuck discussing the symptoms of my current problem and possible causes. He e-mailed me several helpful links, including one to update my AutoCAL gadget we use to update my tunes. This from a guy who hasn't seen me in over two years.
If you have something positive to contribute to this discussion, I welcome it. But please do not bad mouth Chuck or his services. In my opinion, and those of hundreds of other Forum members, he's the best at what he does.

The least of the issues about the tune I got from Chuck was that it made my car feel faster, but it actually ran slower. There's not enough space here for details of my several other problems with Chuck's tune. If you PM me your phone number we can talk about it and maybe you'll understand then why I dumped it.

Thank you Doc.....
My main concern here is that you have a vibration that I suspect is the torque tube
and it was mis diagnosed as a faulty harmonic balancer and the vibration is still there.
The real issue here is that I pinned your crank pulley when you were here last and I suspect that the
tech that replaced your pulley completely ignored that it was pinned and just installed the new pulley.
That's really bad considering the mods to your car. Here is what we did the last time I saw you....

Install the new PIN so the pulley can not rotate on the crank.

Keep me posted on this one.
I suspect that the torque tube has a bow to it and vibrates when you have the car in gear.
REMEMBER: that the flywheel, torque tube, and torque converter all spin ANY TIME THE ENGINE IS RUNNING.
You might not have a vibration in park or neutral, but when you load the torque tube and bend will get worse and cause a vibration...
Please keep in touch with me and let me know if I need to send you a crank pinning kit.
Thank you.

I want to thank Schmitt Chevrolet of O'Fallon IL and our own GM Customer Svc (Kelly J) for making this right.
And I want to especially thank Chuck Mosello (Chuck/CoW) for speaking up when he did. Chuck made sure we all knew the new harmonic balancer had to be drilled and pinned to the crankshaft (like the original) to prevent total destruction of my engine.

Glad I was able to help.... If I didn't jump in here, you would be on the hook for a new motor.
Thank you Kelly J for stepping in! You done GOOD!
