yes, it's plug and play, BUT if yours didn't come with one then theres no hole in the liner. I think you can cut it though. I guess you'll have to rivet it in.... I think i remember it costing $35, i'll try to find it.
The plug where it plugs into is under the hood on the passenger side in front of the radiator shroud.

I have a fairly early '07 and it does not have one. Also if you should decide to install one, you will need a new hood insulator blanket. They are formed to cover the light housing so you only see the lens. If you stick to your stock blanket and cut it, it will not look good.

My 07 (Oct 06) did not have one. I used two small self tapping sheet metal screws and blue Loctite. Once the blanket goes up the only thing showing is the top of the light housing.
Yeah, it's one of those useless things. Now....a light in the glove box of GM vehicles would definitely be useful!
Interesting, our 2009 has a glove box light but can't recall about the 2006.
No light in the 2009 console, I tried a small battery powered one stuck inside the lid but stuff in the console kept turning it on and killing the batteries.
