Exactly what is a "Corvette Wave" ? I generally wave at the driver of another Corvette, and sometimes they wave back, but is there a special wave ?
No. It is just a wave. It's just like saying hello. Sometimes, fellas will just flash their lights. It's pretty cool that most Corvette owners would do it.
Just don't take it personal and get all butt hurt if some fella does not wave.
There are a few threads on this forum of thin-skinned folks that get their feelings hurt about this. Maybe the guy didn't see you, was preoccupied with something else, didn't feel like doing it, or does not know about it. It does not matter. But, yes, the Corvette Wave is a pretty cool thing among most Corvette owners.
There's a crap load of different waves, I've seen everything from the full arm out the window "hey look at me waving at you!" wave, all the way down to the 2 fingers raising off the steering wheel "yeah, I see you here you go..." wave...it's a damn fine tradition!

There is no 'special' wave that I'm aware of. As far as I'm concerned the "Corvette Wave" can be a full-fledged wave, a thumbs-up, an 'air' high five or simply raising a finger (no not that finger) off the steering wheel. Amongst the brotherhood of Corvette owners it's simply a friendly, visual acknowledgement from one Corvette driver to another. Don't be concerned if you don't get a return wave....many Corvette drivers will initiate or return the wave, some may not see you in time, some don't know and some just don't care. The important thing is that you wave and acknowledge fellow Corvette owners on the road. It's a fraternal thing.
No there is no special wave. This tradition has been around for many years. There are some Corvette owners that will not wave for different reasons, most is they either don't know anything about it or they simply did not notice another Corvette approaching them. Then there are those that simply refuse to honor the tradition (of which includes some members here).
I first learned about it back in 1968 when I purchased my first Corvette (a '66 427/425 roadster). I have been doing it ever since. So however you wish to salute the approaching Corvette will be fine.

I have a 67 and I always wave at fellow Vette drivers. I find that all C1 (almost never see them), C2 (Very rarely see them), C3 (see quite a few), C4 (same as c3) and C5 guys wave almost always. C6 guys wave less than half of the time. C7 guys always wave, though I've only run across 3 of them.
