Are these better? That's between here and Denver last April on the way to BBORR. At times I was plowing snow & slush with the APR chin splitter. Car did great.
To be honest I don't usually drive mine in snow/ice as I do have an F250 4WD diesel, but I'm not scared s***less to drive it in inclement weather like some owners.
To each their own.
Those are a bit better...now drop the temps to about 10 degrees and add some steep hills in the neighborhood, ice, and steep driveway to the mix. A few years ago we purchased a FWD Ford Edge and my wife had trouble getting up our driveway with that. That was our last two wheel drive DD. The Vette wouldn't stand a chance at getting back in the garage most days.
I can't get mine out of the garage with ice still on my driveway. The Goodyears are unforgiving on even a light dusting of snow. I saw three corvettes on the road up here in the mountains. Many folks are out having a good time this Christmas. I may be able to get it out in a few more days.
You can be as careful as you want in the snow, guess what, there are 90% of others who think because they have an suv they can still do mach one in the snow. Before you know it, some 16 year old on her cell texting just plowed into your vet...............no thanks, mines covered til spring. Even though idiots are idiots, snow makes it worse.............
if you want to drive your car in the snow and salt I say its your choice.the snow or salt will not hurt the car.all it will do is leave pit marks in the aluminum and any steel part including nuts and bolts will rust.if you do not look under your car it will not matter to you.just wash it and drive it if you like.all I know is my 325 rear summer only tires that came on my gs are slippery on dry pavement so snow and ice would be a white knuckle ride every time you took it out.good luck and have fun.

You're as likely to have a 16 yr old texting run into you in decent weather as bad weather. If you worry about one why not the other?
It's depreciating in value whether you drive it or not.
Vet is slang for an animal physician or someone who served in the military. Vette is slang for a Corvette.
Oh I only drove it in actual snow once, just to see how it handled, but I figure if I'm not driving it when the roads are clear-ish, I'm basically storing it because it's cold out. I have a daily driver for the REAL nasty stuff. If I really felt like driving it in the snow, I wouldn't hesitate though. Fortunately, we only got 4" and the roads were completely dry within two days.
Clear streets = fair game, in my little world anyway...

Professor – not too far from you, by SIUE, took my wife to Historic District a few weeks ago. Main Street - St. Charles
I know those horse drawn carriages well. I hate driving on Main Street--- I understand the cobblestones are historic, but they're really tough on a car's suspension.
Get out there and drive those beautiful cars--- just don't wreck. When you're finished, wash it and put it in the garage so it's ready to go the next time there's no snow on the roads. I will never quite understand storing a car for months at a time without driving
What is there not to understand?
If you have more than one car,you can only drive one at a time. You drive the car you prefer for the situation.
If you can't afford more than one,you drive the Corvette everyday.
Not really rocket science.
I get the point of my car being made to drive but the roads are so bad here during the winter months that it is no fun anyway. Good thorough wash yesterday, going to cover her up today.
Guys I'm very sorry... It's 70 degrees in North Myrtle Beach. Going to Calabash NC for lunch and shopping. I'll post a picture later.
Remember Jimmy Durante? "Good Night Mrs. Calabash"!
Yes I do and my parents had a vacation home in at Windy Hill North Myrtle Beach. I was in the Marines and drove down from Camp Lejuene for some summer fun. And the seafood places are great best anywhere. Now in Rainy Atlanta Ga. Ray Charles got it right kid at store says he's from Oregon and he thinks it rains more here. Grandson 4 wants to ride in Grandpa's vett his dad says no it's raining I say go ahead kid still hasn't got his ride and leaves for N.J. today. looks like Granddad will drive him in the rain today I hope.

My Vette doesn't even see summer rain...more power to you guys driving in snow and or with dogs aboard.
10 inches of the white scitt is forcasted here today. I don't even really want to get my 4X4 plow truck out..much less the Vette.
^^ Same here.....its no so much the snow because even when the roads are nice in the winter I don't drive mine.
The problem is all salt, sand and chemicals they throw on the road. Gotta wait till April or so until we have a good washout or the street sweepers come to clean the road. I haven't drove my car since early November.
I here ya, we haven't seen the road surface in the last three weeks. Lots of ice patches, snow, and tons of salt which hasn't been doing it's job with the low temps.
I just got home from two long weeks in Minnesota. I can say for sure that Randy speaks the truth. I didn't take my Vette, I drove my winter car - 2013 Sonata. Between clearing out the wheel wells and dodging the giant chunks of snow/ice that fall off trucks in the middle of the road, it was an adventure in winter driving. I have to say that snow doesn't slow Minnesotans down. I don't care how bad it was coming down, they were driving, and nobody calls in to work because it's snowing or sleeting or icing. I am glad to be back in MO where the roads are clear. Maybe I will take my Vette out today.

Always love these bragging posts with pictures of base Vettes in the snow, which ride on smaller tires and can be fitted with all-seasons or even snow tires as well.
But the widebody GS's, Z06's and ZR1's with those wider summer only runflat tires cannot be driven safely in freezing temperatures, especially in snow or ice, and should stay parked in that weather.
Thats not being scared s***less, that's being not a stupid a**.

Be careful about the ASSumptions you make. While mine is a base model, it's modified for high speed road racing. One of the mods is wider rear wheels so I can run much wider tires. I run Michelin Pilot Sport runflats as well, not all season or snow tires.
Those pics were from a trip where I had no choice. I was headed to the BBORR race in TX and had to get there in the Vette. I couldn't drive a different vehicle. I wouldn't have ever chosen to drive the Vette in those conditions, but it did surprisingly well for having wide, high speed rated summer tires. While it was not fun in places, it proves that it CAN be driven safely in those conditions if you know how to drive.
