Hey Guys, Thinking about replacing my stock shifter with a short throw unit. I have been considering several different makes. What do you prefer and why? Thanks Ron (My Car is a 2013 C6)

almost everyone will jump on here and say mgw. i have mgw in my car currently very nice units but truthfully after having it and a hurst prior and driving cars with callaway shifter and b&m. any of them are better than stock. really for dd use i think i like b&m best , short throw but miniumal side to side effort or to engage reverse.

Is there a difference between an 07 shifter and an 08 z06 shifter?

My vote is for the MGW, although the only thing I have to compare it to is the stock shifter. What I noticed is that the MGW is a bit shorter and you may have some ability to adjust this depending upon the **** setup. The shift pattern in much tighter and cleaner feeling, no slop at all. I would occasionally have trouble with the 2-3 upshift with the stock shifter when really getting into it, but with the MGW I never miss that upshift. The MGW also requires a fair amount more effort, but I highly recommend the anti-venom mod (adding spacers to the detent bolt) as this dramatically reduces shift effort. I have a 2010 GS for reference, and I have experienced none of the vibration issues that a couple of people have found. Also, I went with the shifter only, I didn't replace the lower box. Pretty easy self install, highly recommended!

MGW - Buy both the shifter and shifter box. The box is as important as the shifter because they work together. Do it once and be happy you did it right! It's only a matter of time the oem shifter and box will wear and become sloppy.
