Cool. Going to be using my Iphone for this. Think I may tap into my reverse light 12v wire for power
Thanks for the info
You might want to use switched power instead of the reverse light power, as the transmitter takes a few seconds to start up, then the phone needs a bit to connect, by which time you are already moving...
Just letting the transmitted power follow ignition makes it easy. If you use your phone, you'll have to take it out, start the app, and let it connect.
It does use the full screen of the device, and the camera has the parking lines and a :stop" warning as well.

Thanks will do ....Which location would be the easiest to tap into for switched power? anywhere in the rear end so I dont have to run a wire to the front interior fuse panel?
From: Currently somewhere in IL,IN,KY,TN,MO,AR,MS,AL, or FL

There are very few "swiched power" wires anywhere in the car. Almost everything is powered through the BCM. To not risk a short destroying a very expensive computer I would take the time and run a wire to the interior fuse panel. I believe most people are getting "switched" power from the seat heater/wiper fused relay.

Ah thanks will do Al..... Will buy a fuse tap to keep things nice and simple....
Here are a few pics. I removed the original cam that came with it and put this nice tiny cubed one in instead...The bracket is hidden behind the plate. The original cam bracket was on the outside of the plate and bulky looking, I didnt like it. I sprayed the sides of the cam and bracket with silver paint to blend in with the car better.... Here are a few pics

this looks ok but do u always have your phone out readily available when backing up? or do u stop undo your seatbelt dig in your pocket to find your phone find the back up cam app wait for it to load so that u can back up lol I can see this getting old real fast .
just get a after market head unit installed an be done with it.

Nope. I have a cup holder for the phone. I always have it in my hand leaving the house or where ever and turn the app on then mount it in the holder...works like a the charm. takes all but seconds
Better than ripping out the stock head unit and spending $800-1000 ... to each his own I wanted something simple and clean.
