The guys on the track are testing their abilities and generally have a pretty good idea of how to drive their cars in a safe environment. The idiots to a man pulling out onto the street and getting onto it shouldn't even have a driver's license. They have no idea of how to drive a car with some horsepower. That is obvious just watching the video. As mentioned in an earlier post, "Stupid is as stupid does." The old saying always was, "If you are spinning, you are losing." Lots of losers out there.
Thanks for posting although I have seen most of these before it is still hard to watch. What I can say is after watching these videos I have finally learned how the spell

Stuff on the track happens..... sometimes you are not up to the task and other times it can be a combination of things.
I remember making a pass just after someone had oiled down the track and the track had just been cleaned ..... put on quite a show trying to keep the car pointed towards the stripe.
For those of us that race I do not think there is anyone who has not had a "close call" at one time or another.
And then there is stupid.......... You need to respect the horsepower and be very aware of it. There are those of us who have driven "stupid fast" cars; on the street we realize you have to behave with street tires otherwise you are an accident waiting to happen.
That film should be required for all who purchase the new C7 Z06 as that car looks to be "stupid fast"
I purchased my first vette a couple of years ago at age 65 and so many times I have wanted to "punch" it and see what it can do. Its videos like these that make me pause and rethink the urge.
Just do it, why buy a Vette if you are not going to experience the awesome power. No big deal with all the nannies on have some fun. The car is not a monster that goes out of control when you punch it.

I see that no one noticed that at 1:33 the blue/purple Vette running the cones hit a young man knocking him several feet into the air. Hope that guy survived, and I'm sure the track or the driver or both got sued!
While I haven't owned a Vette for all that long (4 years), I don't think I have turned off the nannies once. I realize the car is stupid fast and I hope to never make one of these reels. However, what I see here could happen to any one of us. It's that split second when you make a bad decision and hopefully it's just some fiberglass that gets broken. I hope to learn from this but I certainly am not going to call the unfortunate people in this video stupid or idiots. It's just not fair. If you buy a car capable of doing what the Vette does, you certainly will take advantage of it at some point.

Too many people underestimate how fast things can go bad. Sometimes some common sense and a better grasp of what these cars are capable of (and their limitations) could go a long way towards causing an expensive lesson.

Are we to assume that the drivers all had turned off the "nannies" and thus run into problems? Or is this what happens even with all of those traction control devices fully engaged?
I hope that one person that was just watching the autocross but got hit and flipped in the air is ok. That would be my main concern.
Things can go bad in a hurry with any car out there. The C6 just makes it easier for things to go bad. But most seem to be out there trying to show off which got them into trouble.
you can punch it,but make sure if you do not have some real fast driving experience that you are going straight when you do it.
If you look probably 95% of those who got in trouble did so by punching full throttle while their front wheels were turned. I've learned that this is a bad idea. I've done it a couple times myself. Fortunately I've been able to recover. But the car was out of control in an instant.

Indeed, there is so much power and you build momentum so quick, its very easy to lose control.

I'm sure the "nannies" were off.... I know they've saved my bacon once or twice.
