For new Vette owners. I'm sure many of you all may have seen this, but I hadn't, and thought I might share it with any new Vette owners in hopes that they won't mess up their new toy. Seems to me that guys get into trouble when they are trying to show off that awesome power under the hood. Those rear wheels will get away from you pretty quickly if you step on the accelerator to heavily.

Interesting vid - every single one of those guys oversteered, then they tried (too late) to overcorrect. Not very smooth driving at all, with poor (and often dangerous) results.

I purchased my first vette a couple of years ago at age 65 and so many times I have wanted to "punch" it and see what it can do. Its videos like these that make me pause and rethink the urge.

you can punch it,but make sure if you do not have some real fast driving experience that you are going straight when you do it.

Maybe, but I bet if most are honest, some of those situations could have happened to a lot of us.

I know I have come close a time or two.

All except one earned what they got. The guy at the drag strip had some bad luck but the others had no clue when to ease up and gas.

Fair amount of idiots but not all of them are idiots. Those that were on a road track/drag strip/AX were not idiots. They found their driving limits the hard way unfortunately, but they took the time to go to the safest environment for aggressive driving to then try to learn to be a better driver and know their car better. That is not being an idiot... overzealous maybe... but not an idiot. If you have the bug to go fast, then I feel pretty confident that unless you got your license yesterday, you have all been there done that but maybe had the good fortune to be lucky I have had my idiot moments, especially when I was younger, but had the fortune of being a lucky idiot

Now that I have a lot of road track experience and having been fortunate thus far to never crease a fender, I can say my cars have not always been on the track surface 100% of the time nor pointed in the forward direction 100% of the time. It is easy to judge but the poo can hit the fan pretty quickly even for veteran drivers and sometimes it is both feet in, do your best to keep it on the track, and hope while images of the perfect paint job you showed up with flash before your mind's eye.

IMO the difference between an idiot and overzealous driver here is whether you are endangering others. The dipsh!t in the middle of the vid with the red or orange one that spun out, donuted, floored it again and almost hit the truck head on - now that guy should not only be neutered but maybe a candidate for lethal injection. There is just no fixin' that kind of stupid - but at least we should attempt to keep him from breeding and raising a couple more just like him

Let's see a few details...

2013 Genesis Sedan R Spec
429 HP @ 6,400 rpm (longer to reach higher RPM)
376 ft/lb torque @ 5,000 rpm. (lower torque at higher RPM))
Weight: 4,199 lbs. (nearly 900 lbs heavier)
Speedometer = 160 MPH (155 limiter)
Taller center of gravity with narrow tires
Korea's idea of a luxury sports car with four doors.

Results: runs out of steam when pushed.
