I have never noticed this light. Today I had a 19" wheel in a box in the passenger seat and noticed the light hitting it.
The light is small and amber -it is right beside the latch for the passenger sun visor
Any ideas? It is right above my window mount phone holder in this photo

I have an 08 and noticed the light 2 months ago, I was told it's onstar tracking...it's always on even if you don't subscribe, this way in case of an emergency you can use onstar and be billed later...emergencies only.

Fairy tale. Its just ambiant light. Nothing to do with Onstar.

Are you sure you're not talking about the light on the mirror.....?
There's a great mod (on the forum) to 'enhance' this light with a high output led that actually lights up the console with a visible ambient light. I really like mine now!

I was talking about the light shown but my buddy who gave me the onstar info maybe thought I meant something else...who knows??? As long as it's not a warning light I'm happy.
I have read about that light sounds neat,i have a c6 07 convertible and I don't have
it looked every where and cant find it.
If you have an '07 you should have it. It's recessed in the small plastic clip that holds the passenger's visor in place. You can't really see it from the driving position although if you put your hand underneath it at night you can see the red-orange glow of its reflection.
I had my car a year before I noticed it. I can't remember what made me lean over or look up. I got a good laugh out of it. I'm usually pretty perceptive.
From what I understand, '08 was the year they did away with the light about half way through the year. I vaguely remember someone posting that in the second half, all that was left was the depression.
You could check your vin to find out when yours was built during that year.
