I have an 07 z51 6sp. I've always had an issue with the rear diff not locking so sometimes the two wheels spin seperate under WOT. Is this common? How can I fix?
Have you changed the lube? If you use Red Line don't use the friction modifier unless you get chatter. If that doesn't fix it, the clutches may have an issue.
IIRC, there is a specified torque required to rotate one wheel while the other is blocked in place, with the car on a lift. If it takes less than specified to rotate the free wheel, then something is wrong. Might need only a fluid change, or clutch packs could be worn.
Unfortunately, I can't verify either the concept or the numbers, and don't have my Service Manual with me today.
