Default Dash cruise light out

Just realized my dash cruise control light is apparently out. Cruise still works fine and the DIC show engaged but no light in guage cluster. As I recall there was one. How hard is it gettin to the lights back there?

It's there(according to the manual), but who uses cruise control? I don't.

If there's an 'idiot' light in the guage cluster, my Owner's Manual doesn't show/mention it, at least I can't find it.

The only indication that I've ever seen regarding the status of the cruise control has been the DIC messages.

I should be more specific; my '05 has that in the manual, my '09 does not. mrowc6 remembers seeing this on the dash, but I don't. I will have to go out tomorrow and look in the sunlight to see if it's on my cluster. If it's there, its been 150,000 mi. since that bulb worked. lol

I could have sworn mine had one, but maybe not. Will have to see in the sun too to see if it got a shape for it.

This exact topic has been discussed here before (although it's been quite awhile). Contrary to what the owner's manual may say, there is no cruise control indicator light in the C6's instrument cluster. The only indicator is a message that briefly appears on the DIC when cruise is initially engaged.

Several people with a 2005 C6 have posted their car has a Cruise Control light.
Some have said that it is on the 2005 only, and no other years.
Since we had only a 2006 and now 2009, both A6, I can't check that. No CC light on either of them, just the DIC message.

Just noticed mine 13 yesterday...you engage the CC and it displays the speed and is engaged... the goes out ....and you wonder if it's engaged or not?...bump it up 1 MPH and it displays and goes off again.

Warning: Thread hijack.

Lisa, a friend and I were discussing cruise control. He and I use it all of the time in any vehicle we drive so equipped. Our wives, practically never. My wife does not even know how to work the cruise control in her Honda CRV. On a trip to Florida we took turns driving. When she would drive, Mrs. Leadfoot would eventually creep up to 95 mph because she trusts her foot more than some "electronic gizmo".

It seems more men than women use CC, at least in my informal and unscientific survey. I wonder why.

Mine refuses to use CC, period. Won't even discus it.
Bet it's about 'relinquishing control', Tony.

I recall several people saying things like, "I'm quite sure mine has it" but then correcting themselves when they went to their cars to verify; I'm unaware of anyone actually confirming that they have it. I'm betting that no C6s actually have it. If anyone can confirm otherwise, please let us know.

I've never seen the light on my '07....and if I didn't use the cruise, I would look down and find that I was going 100. Setting the cruise at 83 means no worrying about going too fast without knowing it.

Maybe the puzzle will get solved this time.
Your car is a 2005, right? And no CC light?
I guess they could put it on the auto and not the stick, or vice versa.
Or maybe they discontinued it after a few months.

40 years from now, this could be a big deal for the NCRS people.

EDIT:
My wife also refuses to use Cruise Control on any car.

I just checked my 05 with a flashlight and it does not have a CC indicator but does have this spot that is blank. Maybe thats where it would have been.

Maybe they used bad bulbs and they have all burned out.
