Last weekend the wife and I went for breakfast. Got in the car to this. Pushed button, brake pedal was very hard, made a real light buzzing sound, then tach and speedo clocked and the dic did it's thing, but the motor never started. The little engine light came on. So, I assumed the battery was on it's way out. Boosted off and to the local parts store for a test. Test said it need to be charged, but for peace of mind I replaced it.
Today I get home and leave it outside to wipe off before putting it in the basement. Go to put it away and have the same problem!! Leave it for ten minutes and it fires right up. The hard brake pedal has me wondering, because I replace rotors, pads, and calipers just a few weeks ago. Maybe just be a coincidence, but it makes me wonder never having this problem before. Any ides where to start???
No messages on DIC then I would look for the starter solenoid relay they can give you such problems. Also if it is a manual the clutch switch, auto has a switch so it knows your in park. The DIC sometimes reminds us to do certain things but does not know if the tips in these switches are really making contact or slagged up. Low voltage bad grounds might also come and go. Battery connections can come and go when they have black coating on them.

Cant remember which of my cars requires the foot on the brake pedal to start but there would be another switch adj. if pedal were higher up with new brakes and no air in system!
Mine did the exact same thing and about a week later the solenoid on top of the starter burned out..dealer said i had a loose connection and it fried it. Check it and make sure thats not it
Thanks Dewayne!! Love how you can find answers to your problems on here!!!! Going to put it up on my ramps tomorrow and give it a look. If everything looks tight I'm thinking of replacing both start and solenoid.
